Took about 30 mins old car and about 25 mins my newer car, thats with all the pros shlt i/e snap on impact wrench etc..
Twas wondering, speaking to an exmechanical friend, he said he used to do loads of bearings back in the day without a press, he used to use a socket and hammer, but I dont...
F@cking I hate you Renault, bloody french.
Took both hubs off and fitted 99% of the one with the good bearing in, got to the last bolt at the very top and realised i oculd only get one of the two bolts in as the new hub is just ever so slightly out.
Tell you I was screwing proper, plan now...
Yeah point noted mate, dunno how long my bearings going to hold out for tho never heard one as bad as mine.
I take it removing the hub would also send my tracking out?
Sorry lads yeah mk1's.
Guess I'll just have to give it a shot, if it fits it fits etc..
What they like to remove, got work at two going to start work on the car at ten you reckon thats enough time?
Also if it makes fa diffrence the donor clio is 1991 RN and the other clio is 1996 RT.
I know I've asked before I had a reply about it all depends on the spacing but if possible can someone tell me, maybe they've attempted it themselfs...
Can I fit a 1.2 hub on my 1.4 clio?
Cheers lads,
Probably best to add the water/smoke stops when the engines been on for a little while, I only do short trips try to keep revs below 2k & the coolent needs topping up once every so often.
Cars done 90k.. on the orignal head, cam and pretty much everything else lol.
Tbh I'm not going to change the gasket or cam I'm just going to use it till it dies and shove a new 1.4 lump from the scrappies in there.
Basically I started it up this morning and there was a bit of water coming...
Update, Ive managed to take a picture of one of the wires sticking out near the speaker and another wire Ive found under the bonnet could someone kindly try to identifiy them for me please because Im really baffled as to whats going on here...
Ive recently topped mine up with distiled (Spell?) water.
When I got the car, 300 miles ago it was about 1/2 full now it was about 1/4 left just sitting near the Min line.
its an old 1991 car is it usuall for them to lose coolant?
Also will it damage the engine if the coolant runs down...
