The Chris Harris thread

I remember EVO did a road test with an F40 and said it was nearly undrivable on uk roads.

Lol.

I reckon he'll prefer the 200T tbh.

Just got that impression from his ST vid.

What are all the people who've bought ST's going to do if he picks the 200T? Sell up?

If you're content with your purchase, you're content.

I really couldn't care less which way he goes...flip of a coin in my opinion...although it was his tweets and first impressions of the ST that made me look seriously at it instead of the Clio.

There'll be plenty of 'he's been paid off' from one side or the other no doubt.

Wouldnt be any point. The only person thats actually taken delivery of a 200T is Boosh's mum iirc.

Factories not tooled up to make any from my understanding, hence them trying not to sell them in the dealers.

You seen the "advert" video?

Check the driver reaction times on the drag race between the 200T and ST.

No YT here at work...what's the deal/difference with it then? I can predict the outcome though...

The RS forum will love that...Clio 4RS with launch control and 150ms changes beats Fiesta in straight line drag race shocker!

There's 5 sat here waiting to be handed over to customers. There was an initial problem with Renaultsport monitor but lead time for a new RS is 3 month from placing the order to delivery, as they're all made to order.

Just watched the preview...with the speed the camera's running at and how slow motion the footage is I reckon there's a difference between the ST and 4RS getting going of about, ooh, maybe 0.05s.

I'm looking forward to what he makes of the Cup race car...maybe Renault have given it to him as a promise of things to come with the Gordini?

He loved it when I asked him about it. We invited 6 journo's to come and drive it at Stowe circuit in Silverstone. It was one of the better days at work tbh!!

As I said over on the RS forums:

How fudging awesome did that Cup car corner?

Proper race car.

Really didnt expect that result on the drag race tbh. I thought the EDC would have nailed the ST.

When the 197 came out it was a bit plain, so i'm hoping the future versions of the 200edc will be epic :)

Yes, and it was cheaper, still with a warrantee, so why not compare the two?

Because one is modified and one isn't. Once you make that comparison, it negates any arguement of price. Especially for the purpose of drag race.

Regardless of the cars, I thought that was Harris' weakest video in a while. Didn't come across that much effort was put into it.

By your reasoning the Clio was modified, it had the Cup suspension option fitted at a price of £650.

Same cost as the Mountune package, it can be ordered on a new car just like the Mountune, and is similarly warranty friendly.

Didn't think of it like that though it is a valid point.

Loved the video. Harris has a way of "getting it".

Most of all, i'm just over the moon for Ford tbh. They are my car love and I wanted this ST to be great. It clearly is. £599... scary to see how it left that Clio above 50-60mph.

The cup car is frighteningly cool. So so flat. Love it. What a shame it looks like an utter abortion. Even painting those White bits Black would transform the car.

Oh and spare me "the looks don't matter", because they clearly do, it's painted liquid yellow.

Driven both cars recently and I have to admit, Harris is right, the Fiesta is better. The RS feels like it has more overall grip if I'm honest, it's much more planted. But the ST moves about in a similar way to my 182 at the rear, therefore I love it.

The seating position in the RS is a winner though, much lower with adjustable steering rake. Can really sit 'in' the car for once. It's event better than the Fiesta in this area. And I really liked the dual clutch gearbox on the Clio. In RS mode it's a joy actually. Instant up-changes and lovely noises from the exhaust.

I'd have the Fiesta though..

You sure it was the exhaust and not just the stereo speakers? ;)
