iPhone 4/iOS4 Info (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

Night out, got taxi home, he wouldn't let me go into my house to get money, i felt a little threatened by the way he was speaking, he also wanted me to leave my phone with him whilst i got the money out of my house (wouldn't except me leaving anything else, i refused to do this for obvious reasons, so he started to drive me back to town, he was radio'ing other cabs at this point, so i decided the best policy was to run at the next lights, he caught me, other cabs turned up. I get some bruises and he gets a barred iphone 4, which he can use as a paper weight. Pretty much covers it, reported to the police, etc.

No doubt if they ever caught up with him he'd say the complete opposite and say he felt threatened and i was refusing to pay, etc. Moral of the story is don't get in private hire cabs that you haven't ordered.

Mine has been fine since I got bumper, mum got bumper but hers has had constant problems with signal. It will either go to no service or be full signal and still not make/receive calls or send texts.

She calls o2 where a woman said they would send out a replacement next day which I thought was strange with the stock issues. No parcel arrives the next day so she calls o2 again where a guy tells her the woman straight out lied to her, didn't put anything on the system at all and that they have no iPhones until next shipment in a few weeks.

I'm pretty sure it is a dodgy one so she's going to have to return it and go back to 3G for a few weeks.

Step 1) Make Genius Appointment at nearest apple store.
Step 2) Turn up with "said phone" for "said appointment".
Step 3) Let Genius wave around phone and generally look purplexed.
Step 4) Genius disappears out the back and returns with a new one (although "roughing it up" in a plain brown cardboard box).
Step 5) Leave Apple store with new phone.

I just received an email stating my phone has left Shenzhen, China for shipping to the UK and due 20 July
Was ordered SIM free from the Apple Store with a delivery date 02 August so it might be worth checking your email if anyone else is waiting as delivery may have been brought forward.

On another note, O2 sent me a mini SIM in the post as they expected me to upgrade/renew my 3G and plan with the buy out option.
As I've still got 2 months left on my existing contract is it worth transferring my current contract over to the mini SIM for the remaining period or shall I just get the scissors out when the phone arrives?

All you have to do is go to the o2 website and enter in your phone number and new sim card number, you get a text with a code which you enter into the site and the "sim swap" starts. Mine took a couple of minutes. Probably take you longer to cut the sim!

apple online has a 3 week wait.

This is unofficial and purely my opinion, but on the 24th july, O2 are opening their i4 stocks to new customers etc as currently you have to be on an o2 contract already to be able to get the new one off them (so they say, some ppl have managed to get round it), i suspect it will be around that time PAYG's are also released. I'm in the same boat as you i'm holding out for then to see what happens.

Ha, same situation, but I've been in it since before my holiday.

Whatever you do, don't buy the £10 LG jobbie from Tesco, it's unusable as a phone - it's on a par with Windows mobile.

I pulled my phone out, tried to unlock it but nothing. Just a blank screen. Tried plugging into a wall charger and into my MacBook, nothing.

What can I do?

I'd be surprised if they released a main release before a 0.1 version though
