Anyone downloading Windows 7 Beta tomorrow? Legally!

  Scirocco GT 2.0
Installed and running on my partition.

Impressed so far! However can't get Window Live Messenger to sign in! Anyone else having this issue? Can't see to find an uninstaller for it either!

EDIT: Sorted it! using Windows Installer CleanUp Utility and redownloading/installing.

I have partitioned some of my HDD and running dual boot with my normal Vista Home Premium.

However I'm finding myself using W7 more than Vista at the moment!

Although i'm getting fed up with viewing most webpages (including this one) in "Compatability View" but meh.

I'm not having any problems viewing pages using FF 3.0.5

Works perfectly for me -

Im running it as my main os, love it already. IE8 still sucks, but my main issues are my graphics card drivers?

I was really looking forward to this, supposedly windows done properly. But aside from the graphic stuff and a few important alterations to settings etc, I'm starting to believe it's a joke. Although it's managed to find some drivers on its own, it won't seem to want to let me put on my own on, and everytime I boot, it alters my screen resolution to dual screen with my tv... whereas before I had the option and the settings could be saved for every boot. On another note, IE8 is a nightmare. I find it keeps crashing my whole laptop, if it that has a problem so i've had to revert to ff3. And finally, I'm sort of liking the task bar, but I must say, it takes a bit of getting used to. I don't no if anyone else is having any of these issues, but it's just starting to get on my nerves slightly. I'll stick with it for now and see what happens, i'm just slightly aggrovated lol

I'm finding the taskbar a bit strange and sticking to Vista 64 Bit as my main system for now

just installed, running it now on my spare partition. not one issue so far, graphics driver is good as well as the audio

just the compatability thing with ie8.

i like it a lot, its so fast in comparison to vista

Do you really need 15gig on a seperate partition to install it as a dual-boot? I've got about 13gig free for a new partition but I can't seem to get the Vista volume shrinker to give me much more.

Cheers.

Installed Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium CS4 and Office 07' with no issues so far.

Very impressed, as said, it seems a lot faster than Vista.

Will be interesting to find out how it runs on older machines (4/5 years old) I'm gonna dig some out at work tomorrow. Have some Asus Terminator P4s somewhere

Was just flicking through some stuff on one of my select logins and saw the download there, might give it a bash at work tomorrow and see what it's like.

Would try it at home, but whilst my machine is fine for what I use it for it's rather aged now so it'd probably cry :(

Both laptop and first desktop are good specs :)

Would like to hear how your last one runs......

Don't even know the spec of my work one, will try it on that.

Will try on my macbook pro, but it's not a great spec now.

Thanks for the info,

G.

Yeah myself and my IT colleagues at work are interested in finding out how it runs on the P4... will let you dudes know :approve: Hopefully it will be a good experiment for the beta.

When we deploy the final version it will be running on Shuttles though with various custom specs (some dual core, some quad core) across the site which shouldn't have any problems as they are running Vista at the moment (www.icubes.co.uk)
