This is brilliant mate, love the brakes!
Would your induction not be better facing the other way towards the headlight though?

Thanks mate :). Idea is to take a feed upto the scuttle panel. Work in progress. Lol

How did you mount the ecu @Chambers_RS ?

Picture is above for you. I will be adding another mount just to keep it more solid.

Like the idea of that! Using like a scoop intake?

@Chambers_RS what have you done with your carbon container...just removed it? If so what have you done with the wires?

I've removed the canister and hidden the sensor under the engine mount. I'll get a pic.

Will use some kinda scoop yeah still looking into ideas. Will be making progress soon tho.

What bells and rotors are they mate, they look great!

Thanks, It's the jamsport kit with AP rotors and custom bells.

Talking of the wiring for the charcoal canister . I unwrapped the loom and tucked it all back into the loom further up by the injectors and then re-taped it all up . No flapping connector to worry about now .

Been finishing off my intake today. Unsure on how well it will work but i like the look of it
I've used a fog machine to blow it over the bonnet and seems to work but with the car not running couldn't test it fully. I also managed to get some fluids in it and bleed the brakes.

I don't want to know what's up your pipeline if that's ok! Flol!!

This is similar to what I was going to do with mine when I had the rs2, and I'm really interested to see what it does.

Ah ok , it does look really good .
So has this set up been used earlier on in Renaults life ? Rallying clios maybe .

Sorry about the pipeline joke [emoji33]

Yeah I agree mate, it does. The setup was originally used on Grp a 16v/williams on a similar style to this in respect of taking the air feed from the scuttle. I think the gravel spec mk2's had something similar, but don't quote me!

Lol! It doesn't offend me mate! 🙈

Looks great but you may want to keep the slam panel rubber seal to stop warm air coming out from the bonnet and into the vent. Would be interested to see RR numbers under different conditions.

Thanks Sonny, I'll be adding the rubber seal :) need to relocate the washer bottle and other things so it's not complete just yet :)

Has anyone any info on what vehicle it's off .
I have a friend at Renault and is trying to look it up.
Was it a special Motorsport division or Renault sport ,and do you have any idea on where one of these scoops can be purchased from @@Chambers_RS

At the weekend I wanted to get the Clio running so set about doing a nut and bolt check of everything which seemed good. Fluid check everything seemed good till I noticed the coolant bottle noticing the coolant lower than I had left it?!
Looked underneath and noticed the subframe was wet and holding green fluid :weary:
Closer inspection found the bloody water pump weeping :pensive:

So I made a start on the new washer bottle and pump.
New location and pump

Isn't finished and excuse the dirt lol

Cars now left ready for when I tackle the pump removal.
Anyone have an idea how much of a pain it's is to squeeze out?

PMS exhaust bud. Well made bit of kit. Race system but meant to have a low noise rating :)

Ah ok, thought it might be.

If I ever ditch my standard pea shooter, I think it will have to be for one of these. Well, unless I fashion a side exit for it lol.

Was off work this weekend so set about changing the water pump. I order the Valeo pump that PMS sell. I checked repair times on autodata and when I saw 4.1 hours to change it wasn't really looking forward to the job.
Spoke to a few Renault specialist in my area they all said to loosen the engine mounts and push it to the passenger side and the pump will just squeeze out.
Anyway all I did was undo the 4 bolts to the alternator bracket and the top alternator bolt, pulled it all forward and the water pump was out in 20 minutes happy days.

Course this would of been harder if I still had PAS lol.
10 minutes to clean the old gasket off and 25 to fit back together and tension the belt it was done. Happy days.

Gave the ML a bit of TLC too as it need rear brakes and the rear antiroll bar drop links where missing strangely.

You know the problem I had previous with the red light and intermittent starting was the power cable on the starter not tightened down fully. I'd replaced the engine but obviously never tightened it enough.

I did read your thread about that and I did actually check mine after haha.

I had an issue with the actual starter motor, it was spinning but not firing the cog out and meshing with the flywheel to turn the engine over. Took back off cleaned it up and jumped it off a leisure battery, refitted and it starter first time.

Last night it started first time everything on the key, even when I killed the power at the kill switch so fingers crossed by starting issue is sorted now too.

Had the Clio running for bit yesterday. Top up the oil and checked it over. Didn't leave it running to long haven't wired the fan in yet.
But I have the service light and EML on, probably to be expected lol.
Still need to sort a few little issues and worse of all the exhaust is blowing from the manifold joint and it's a bloody new Renault gasket! Properly angry about this, so tempted to buy another manifold to get solve the issue, either a 182 manifold to move the join to an easier location or go all out and get a PMS mani.

Anyway little video of it running and tickling the throttle. (If this vid works lol)

I'm amazed at how well that starts and runs on the standard ecu mate!

Nor me lol. Worried now it's had some rstunner map or somert thrown on, as even tho the timing was out it was still pretty quick (kept up with me mates stripped out type r ep3)

So tempted by the PMS mani, what you think? Be alright on standard ecu with the RS2? Probably over kill but looks awesome lol
