Yeah man! It's wired to the ignition so when you fire the car up it starts recording. Did you find out about if yours is cup spec or not? So confused when you came over haha

Realised it's probably non-cup as it doesn't have the spoiler? but then what about the autotlight thing? So weird!

Is there a guide on how to do, cba having it plugged into the cig lighter all the time?

I kind of did, although it was a bit of a fail haha. Breaker bar got delivered, jacked it up and measured the gap and was convinced it was 54mm. Got inside, ready to order the Bilsteins and I realised I'd read the tape measure wrong LOL. Still think it's 54mm but need to double check as I keep doubting myself :(.

You wonder what some people think when they drive. You get some nutters out there.
Out of interest what dashcam do you have and have you mounted it next to the interior mirror?

I've no idea what you mean haha. I thought most people wired it into the fusebox but I could just be making that up. Think I'll get the car set up to how I want and then get one. Skint as foooook right now.

It's the mobius action cam and it's mounted directly to the left of the interior mirror yeah

Mines wired under the cig lighter, you know the little cubby hole thing? Under there so it's hidden away

My headlamps have always annoyed me, mainly because one of them won't adjust and the other adjuster has always been broken so one headlight has always pointed down and the other pointing up so i've never really had the true "xenon experience" so I thought i'd look out for some 172 headlights as I love the black inserts @incy-spider knows my feels

This is what they turned up like. SO FADEDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

So I sanded them back. I'm going to do the thing that EVERYONE does on here, if you look at some other threads where people have restored their headlights they always say something along the lines of "They're not perfect, but they're much better than before" hahah exactly the same this time

Anyway this was before, grey insert doesn't really go too well I think

Also, on the way home I thought i'd take a detour on some decent back roads. I've done a few other things today but jesus the car feels WAY more responsive.

I added a lot more oil as it was getting low and cleaned the TDC sensor.

The car makes me smile SO MUCH haha just the way it handles it's amazing and so fun, I know I say it a lot on here but I think it's easy to just splooge loads of pics of the car on a website but not actually say about the car and how it's driving. Loving it!

Today I gave the car some TLCCCCCCCCCCCCCC!

After changing the gearbox oil a few weeks ago, it started to leak. Well it has always leaked throughout my ownership from the gearbox selector seal. So I bought a kit from @mgd which arrived stupidly quickly, cheers again man.

I then started fitting it today, it wasn't a pain really. I expected it to be much worse but after watching the youtube video guide it made things really clear. The main bit I struggled with was fitting the new seal and o-rings. As it's a split design it doesn't evenly go into the gearbox, you really have to make sure you're putting equal pressure on it whilst pushing it on. It's a f**king tight fit when it goes in and I was a little worried I was going to snap it and be left without both seals. All sorted though in the end :D

Just a pic to show the seal you're replacing, you have to cut that fucker off and when I say fucker I genuinely mean an absolute b*****d. It's not just plastic it's metal too

All on and cleaned

I then repalced the gearbox oil and engine oil and filter. I also fitted a ramair panel filter the other day as my standard filter was a state. This was only £20 on eBay. Not sure if it's made any difference but it's good to know that the car has been fully serviced now.

I also tightened my topmounts up or attempted to (PMS solid mounts, still loose though :(, think the bearing has gone in them both maybe??) and I slipped with the spanner. I've put a horrible scratch in my wing :( Really really annoyed at myself for that.

Do you mean you didn't pay labour but had to buy the actual bearings? How long did yours last? Next weekend i'll give it a look over but that means removing the camber bolts so i'll have to tipex it properly so it makes it easier to put back together.

In terms of fitting, just one large open ended spanner ontop of the plastic tool you get in the pack and equally put force into it. It's scary though as you're putting a lot of pressure on it. Good luck though, let me know how you get on.

Cleaned the car today so obligatory driveway pics!

Mine lasted 6 months, and were absolutely buggered! One was completely siezed and the other was loose like yours. I paid 50 quid and delivery to them, they swapped them and returned for that price. Nick recommended hosing the underside down after a drive in salty conditions, but said there is no need for any grease to maintain them.

Thanks for tips on the mapco kit, sounds like fun!
