Forgive me if I've missed it in this thread or if it's a stupid question, but when you fit the washer blanks, do you block the pipes/have them facing the ground/don't spray the windscreen with your lights on?

I doubled them over and cable tied them so I get more horsepower going to my windscreen 😂

Today I've sleeved my exhaust. I was still blowing but that was using exhaust paste. Ive redone it now though using a lot alottttt of rtv silicone sealant! Just letting it dry now.

Really hope it doersn't blow now :(

So much horsepower they wash the car behinds windscreen instead? Haha. Looking for some blanks for mine and there's some genuine ones on eBay for £35 which I don't know if I can justify paying for a couple of bits of plastic!

Think mine's blowing as well at the moment, it sounds a lot 'raspier' than when I bought it. May take it down to Tony Banks when I get time I think.

I fitted a smaller wheel as I was getting used to the 330mm too much!

Went for a leather one too as I prefer the texture.

It's now 300mm and I'm loving it. A lot of steering wheel feedback but parking is a bit of a workout. I think the shape of it is more equal too if that makes sense.

New one looks great, whats the plan for buttons on it?

Finally fitted my Bilsteins yesterday with the help of @gambit. Almost 5 months after buying them haha - think you fitted yours 10 minutes after receiving them. All went well and they look amazing. Havent had a chance to properly try them at speed but thats the plan for today on my way to work. I didnt make any changes to the heights on either the front or the back but I plan to lower the back to the lowest and raise the front a little bit as it scrubs on the arch liner on full lock.
Need a bit of advice though... Ive got some 25mm spacers , some 10mm spacers and some 10mm stub spacers. With standard offset wheels (et45) I was gong to use the 10mm stub ones at the back but do you think the 25mm ones at the front will be too much and scrub even if I raise the front up by 15-20mm. Do you have camber bolts at the front or anything?

I think i prefer the fake perforated leather material to the leather, but each to there own.

You get used to the wheel quickly. At first it feels too small compared to the 330mm but after a couple of days it feels ok.

I trimmed mine down to 19mm at the front on the lathe. 25mm is too much, well I found them to be. I run 16's on the back and they run near on flush and my fronts run flush.

Thanks mate. I had some other 16mm spacers I used instead. 25mm ones would have been too much and would have needed to raise the coilovers much more or cut the arch liners to stop the scrubbing.

Hey man, sorry for the long reply. How are you liking the billies?

I actually think I have a 30mm spacer up front or maybe it's 25mm but @incy-spider will have to confirm as I bought them from him haha

I do have camber bolts though and regardless of those it was still rubbing on full lock, it's the bumper bracket so on that trackday I did I hit it with a big hammer upwards and bent the metal back a bit and since then it hasn't made the horrible noise. You can hear it on the first few laps!

I much prefer the perf leather price :( I'm a little miffed that this texture kind of feels exactly the same as the perf leather one hahaha i'm really hoping it wears down and goes sticky if that makes sense?

I'm really loving the size of it though!

Looks good. What you doing with the old one? [emoji41]

I was thinking the same thing

Haha guys it sold within 25 mins of me posting the ad unfortunately :(

Got some gearbox oil i'm going to stick in at the weekend along with refitting the stiff shift 3.0 parts that Yanoo has sent me. Such a great guy for sorting me out as I was having problems with one part of the shifter.

@dann2707 Aright mate, just read the whole thread (its taken me about an hour!). Brilliant read, and hats off for all the work you have done.

Spoiler looks the business, and cant believe how cheap these non genuine ones are, considering the price of the actual V6 one.

I'm sure I'll have a chat with you at a meet sometime. You'll have to get along to the Buttertubs drive I am organising!

Thanks for that dude, glad you enjoyed :kissingclosed:

Sad news about the spoiler, the paint has started to bubble underneath at a few areas. I was absolutely devastated when I noticed it the other day, not sure if it's a painting issue or the actual material being dodgy. Nothing is ever easy haha

I've just seen the drive meet mate and it's absolutely perfect however that's the weekend of a biking event called Tartydays (trials biking) Personally i'd blame @AdamR as he owns the company ;) hahaha

I thought they'd have been a tad on the large side. Mine are close to scrubbing and I've got 19mm spacers and probably about a 15mm arch gap.

They are pretty good, I dont get any scrubbing and didnt need to raise the coilovers. I havent had the bilsteins set up properly all I have done so far is use the setting they came on but raised it by 6 threads on each side. The back is as low as they go though. I am going to get pictures after lunch.

Dan - did you notice a lot of difference after you had yours set up properly?

It's all my fault 😧

I'm not going to be able to buy my ticket until the end of the month, budgeting and all that do you think i'll be okay for one then?

Oh no! Yeah wonder if it's the material of the spoiler?

Might change the date of the drive if people can't attend..
Please do :D Maybe at the start of May?

I really would love to come along though i've been begging people to come with me for so long now @Bear Head hahaha

I noticed a massive difference Gus! I was a bit disappointed when they first went on to be honest. I think lowering it threw the tracking out along with the camber but once the camber was sorted and tracked properly.

I'd recommend 2degrees negative camber at the front and 10 degrees toe out, I think we did 5 on mine, reckon we should go for 15 or so next time Adam??
The car makes me smile so much now though, the smaller wheel definitely helps though. @leeds2592 is going to have a go in it soon, hopefully get him on the Bilstein train ;) hahaha

It's like it's lifting up a bit. I'll have to take a picture to show (but that means I have to look at it:sob:😢😢😢😢😢😢😢), I showed my mate and he didn't think it's bad at all but I know it's there.

Don't think you would notice much difference between 5, 10 and 15 mins toe out Dan, anywhere around that ballpark is a nice value for a 'spiritedly driven' Clio.

Thanks Dan will get mine setup next week with tracking as well using the settings you suggested.
Really am loving the bilsteins they really come into their own on really fast sweeping corners. Got a few other things fitted in the last few days. Went for PMS top mounts and strut bar also my brakes and wheels too. here is how mine sits, pretty much as low as I can go without scrubbing. The rear still needs the stub axle spacer.

@optical that looks absolutely stunning, a proper credit to you mate! Have you put more pics on your thread? Would be great to see

Today i've done a few jobs. Yanoo sent me some spare parts to swap with mine as i'm having gear issues. It's wobbling left and right when in gear so now it looks like it's looking more like it's gearbox related rather than gearstick housing related which is a massive 😧 for me but i'll get to the bottom of it.

I also changed my gearbox oil to the proper ELF stuff that I got from eBay, used a new copper crush washer and all that jazz.

I noticed that the nearside wheel was wobbling in all directions when doing the wheel bearing / ball joint test so I've tightened the hub nut up using the torque wrench but how has it even come loose?! I though the hub nut can't come undone by itself? :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy: There is no wobble now and I'm guessing that's why my car was making some strange noises lately!

It really is true, once you start messing with stuff, adding aftermarket parts and stuff the car really has to be nursed. I do love it though, it's in my nature. I drove my Brother-in-law's Ford Fusion the other day, it's a 1.4 litre and my godddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd it's f**king crazy how dangerous a low power car like that is! Like what if you needed to get out of the way of a car quickly etc you're dead. Coming out of junctions was actually scary and the handling, jeeeesus it was like driving the titanic so bastarding boaty. You could steer one way, steer the other, then steering back again and it had only just completed the first steering input!!!! It made me appreciate my cars handling so much more, I do appreciate it anyway.

Gave her a clean, really makes me smile how it's in such good condition for an 11 year old car  obviously it has a few niggles in places but what car doesn't. Apologies for the pics in the same place. Blocked in haha

I can't help but think it's missing something though? Turinis?

Those Corbeau seats are definitely in the pipeline though!! I'm considering getting some powerflex wishbone bushes too but not too sure if they make that much of a difference? Can anyone advise?

Full credit to @Yanoo for sending the spare parts for the gears issue. What a legend.

If you are feeling flush why not get some 197 Brembos, I found some cheap and brand new ones on Ebay The seller is also a member on here and has 9 pairs I think going from what it says on Ebay. Then get the mounts off @chris powell and you are away. Or buy my yellow brake kit in the pic above as I have just bought the 197 brembo caliper kit.

Cant take credit for the stuff on my car @gambit actually did most if not all of it, he is genius when it comes to using a toolkit. Got some pictures coming in the next day or so for my project page .

Yeah his service is second to none. So helpful through PM's too :)

Brakes aren't a problem at the time being, they seem too good atm and was nowhere near close to getting fade on that track day although I suppose I didn't generate that much speed!

Sounds like you have my dog in your car!

i'm not sure what you mean?? haha Is this a reference to something i've missed? :p

Today @leeds2592 bobbed over to mine to have a ride in the car to see what the Bilsteins are like, great guy and was awesome to meet you man. We talked about car nipples. True story haha. Think i've fallen in love with Inferno orange too :D

Although I just pulled it in a mile away from the kerb, I was actually well within the lay by I'll have you know haha.

Your car has way too many nipples LOL. Nice to meet you too mate and thanks again for taking me out! Soon as I can properly measure the struts with the wheel off, I think I'm going to get them ordered. Will let you know what I do with regards to fitting etc, although I wouldn't mind learning how to do it hint hint ;).

Slow morning at work = catching up on CS despite never owning anything French. Just want to make sure people didn't miss this beauty...

Would look something like this:

Car's looking good, Dan. Hopefully see it back on track some time semi-soon, along with those @AdamR and @debussetti chaps too.
It's seriously what people recommend mate :)

Thanks though Luke, yeah was day dreaming yesterday about another trials forum track day! Need to do ittttttt

The majority of the guys that were at the last one were keen to have another go. If it ends up being Curby again it'd be cool to compare against last time. Most people seemed to have tweaked and refined their setups (or in some cases actually got cars working *ahem*!) so should be osme improvements to be had.
