Thanks very much... All cleared up now, I decided not to do it. Thanks for the detailed and unbiased reply, though - much better than SOME of the replies on this thread.
Hey, guys.
I've recently noticed that, when I start my car up in the morning, it has a few problems. It's only just started occurring, but - right from the off - the engine will occasionally 'shudder' every couple of seconds. I think it's a missfire, but I'm not quite sure, and I'd just like...
Hey, guys.
I'm not sure whether this is the right section to post in, so sorry if it's not!
Basically (for some weird reason), I quite fancy displaying a US registration plate on my car. The plate's been de-registered, and has been for about 5 years, and is clearly a registration from the...
I own a Phase 1, but I'd like to get a 172 Phase 2 for my next car... I say this because I'm more into the whole on-board computer stuff - my particular Phase 1 doesn't have an on-board computer (I know some do, though!), nor does it have anything like seat height adjustment or anything...
Got a direct link, mate? Just looked at your threads and couldn't find one... Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but I can't find a guide anywhere. Thanks anyway, though.
EDIT - Got one, I wasn't looking hard enough, thanks.
'ello, all!
I have a '98 Clio 1.2 Grande (RN; MkII, Ph1), and it didn't come with any rear speakers. Since the car originally came with a radio cassette player (which the previous owner upgraded to a nice Kenwood Bluetooth-ready head unit - cheers!), the front speakers are a bit on the...
Take your foot off the accelerator ;)... Nah, just kidding. I was going to suggest it being the choke, as the weather's doing a little bit of a crazy turn at the moment and getting cold overnight, but I don't think a choke would rev your engine that high. If it's not that, then I'm stumped :(.
My brother's recently had a problem with his Corsa, and it's the exact same as what you're describing (even though it's a different car), and it ended up being his head gasket that needed replacing. Check on your oil cap to see if the oil is white in colour, and also check for any overheating...
You could try a wet-dry vacuum, that would be the only thing that I could suggest - I'm useless at keeping my own car clean, haha! Giving the heater matrix a replace should be a good job, and if that doesn't solve your problem, then it would be the sunroof.
There are two main causes of wet floormats. The first, which could be the more logical explanation, is that the sunroof seal is broken, thus allowing water to pour down the sides of the inside of the car, and on to the floormats. However, this usually affects the rear floormats, but it could...
Ooh... I'm not sure then, mate, sorry! It could just be the weather, or it could be that your pads just need replacing just as the weather changes, as a coincidence :P.
The cold weather could be contributing to it. It could be the handbrake seizing up. I had a handbrake bind to my r/n/s wheel when I first had my car, cost me £175 because I had the brake pads changed at the same time. If it's a handbrake bind, chances are high that any mechanic will change the...
I had the same problem on the front-right of my car. Turned out the front o/s suspension coil was completely FUBAR (according to the mechanic, "one of the worst cases of it I've ever seen.") Cost about £100 including labour. Hope this helps, sorry it's not very detailed!
Hey, guys.
I'm a newbie to the whole car scene, as I've mentioned in one of my other posts, and I hope I'm not spamming the forums with my questions! This one's a bit of a dumb-moment one. My Clio (1998 MkII, PH1) has no onboard computer (whether that's got any bearing on the situation or not...
Hey, guys.
I'm new to the whole car world (started driving 4 months ago), and I've got a '98 Clio MkII (1st phase). I've got a service coming up - and I'm going to have a crack at it myself. However, it's recently hit 84,000 miles. I'm just wondering if this is considered 'high' mileage? I...
Hey, guys!
I'm finally old enough for my insurance on a 1.2 to not cost a small mortgage, and I've decided to go for a Clio! I'm really new to cars, to be honest - I know a healthy amount, but with regards to modding, I'm completely useless, haha. Either way, I thought I'd just introduce myself...
