Morning. Christ its been a few years since I was on here, hope all is well..
Anyway, my Flame Red, FF Mark II 172 is gathering a hell of a lot of dust, so needs shifting. Plus, I'd moved down here to London a while back and who needs a car down here?! It's been off the road for a couple of...
Took a pic but can't be bothered to upload it. Parked in front of my flamer on Pocklington's walk opposite the courts. '51 silver 172 had me foiled as a mk.2 but the front end revealed a mk.1. Custom zorst and a new CS sticker in the rear window.
Safe.
S3 Y**, CS sticker in rear window, parked in the Jon Lewis car park Sunday night. Parked behind you in a Flamer. Went to see that new Moon film, was toss... Although the food and red wine in that new 1573 restaurant was quite good.
Cheers.
If I'm there after 6pm, I'll leave my flamer opposite, on the street outside Waterstones.
I gave up going to meets ages ago, wouldn't mind going to another one if there was a chance someone would take me out in their 197/200 or an R26 :O)
I work at a bar called Barristers which is just off Belvoir Street near Fenwicks. We've only been open less than a year. Most nights I finished well after midnight, hence why I have trouble finding a space. To be honest I should really buy a bike or just walk as its only 30 minutes, but I'm too...
I don't know if they can enforce such a thing without passing on the cost to the residents. If I had a guaranteed space outside my house then I perhaps would be willing to pay, but how much? Having said that, it won't happen, there are far too many houses with 2+ cars per household to be able to...
I've seen your cup a few times I think.
Been on Lytham Road for just over a year now, you are pretty much just round the corner then. I get fed up trying to find somewhere to park around this area, as I finish work late in town I can never find a space when the university students are around...
Is there a replacement part available for this? I've seen replacement buttons on eBay but I don't know if its a spring or something underneath?
Its sitting a bit below flush and I have to push it really hard to get it to respond. Its definitely not covered by warranty its quite an old 1st gen...
what sort of journeys do you drive? i do a lot of town driving and don't really rag the engine much because my engine doesn't get warm enough to do so before i get to my destination, i average about 26mpg at the moment! I haven't really been on a long drive (10miles or greater) for bloody ages.
The higher the K number, the further from white you are actually going, so that might put a strain on your eyes whilst driving at night. Also, bear in mind, to light up darkness, you need WHITE light, not purple or blue!
I just bought one, swapped all the bits over. Mine arrived with a broken white clip but just changed it with my old one.

it could be but i doubt it. its a metal unit i don't know what it does but only the xenon lamps have them. they are screwed to the base of the headlamp unit itself. when my xenon bulbs have gone its usually the bulb, the units seem pretty solid.
You might be able to get into the back of the offside headlight if you don't have fat hands! But then you've got to get the bulb out and back in which is a bit fiddly as they are quite delicate. Think there is a bit more room behind that one, the nearside headlamp has aircon pipes behind it.
oh...
Should take about 20 minutes, if that. Bumper off, light out, replace HID bulb, fit it all back. JD.
The ones in those ebay ads look fine. I would go for the normal 4300k ones, they are bright enough and have a bit of a blue tint anyway. Do a search on here for it you'll find some older threads...
