Hi, thought I'd update this.
Fitted the new plug and sensor a while back but my trackday at Snetterton was the first test.
The day started fine then after lunch the misfire/hesitation started again, and again on the way home.
I haven't a clue what to try next...... Anybody got any ideas?
A few updates, nothing too exciting.
Had to have Snappy do my wheel and gaiter, the original wheel wasn't in too bad condition tbf, but its something I wanted doing rather than needing.
Wheels have been done wrapped in 4 new PS3's.
Gave them a quick seal before putting them on...
I have the part but haven't fitted it yet, I will hopefully give it a go tomorrow and report back. Problem is I don't know when I will go on another long journey to properly check it out.
Evening all, I've done a search but can't find an answer.
The problem started on a 2 hour journey last weekend, basically the car performs well and pulls like a train on ordinary everyday journeys, but on longer journey (1hour+) it feels like it's holding back at 5k and above, sometimes it...
Cheers. Haha, you don't.... until 3rd gear, even then its a tad lively. The 414 is just a pub figure anyway, wanted to see how far it could be pushed. It will grip well with decent throttle input.
At 360 which is what I usually run on track it just about puts down full throttle in second when...
Haha it's not bad.
I had to ease off to stop myself stoving the GT3 in the rear, that was at 360. Ring was 297 so a fair way down on power too.
Yeah Clio is awesome, was great at Snetterton even though it was very very slippery.
Cheers, it's surprisingly useable too.
Snetterton last year was spot on all day apart from lacking a little feel through the brake pedal.
DN10 this year, 11th lap ever and 2 laps before the brush with the barriers.
Weighs 910kg so 455 per ton, still has glass, electric windows and mirrors...
I would have loved one from new but I was 15 when they came into production.
Haha, I get that a lot. Owens developments GT2868 HTA at 27psi.
Thanks, I forgot how fun they were to drive. The 106 is too lairy to have fun on the roads.
Hi all, had a 172 Cup about 4 years back until someone stole it.
I always fancied another so due to a recent incident (I'll get to that in a bit) I ended up with one.
It's a 53 plate with a smidge over 100k, Ktec coilovers, brembo discs, DS2500, braided hoses and a stainless exhaust system.
I...
I'm pretty sure it's overfuelling because when you give it some revs it clears and runs fine. It's only at tickover or if you hold it at a certain revs it will e very rough. Oh and it obv sticks of fuel.
Cheers for that I will pass these things on.
Hi all,
Already had a browse but couldnt find what I was after.
Pulled out of a junction the other day when my car started what i thought was missfiring, so changed the plugs and now it seems as though it is overfuelling very badly.
Someone suggested there might be an air leak from when i...
Hi all,
Picked up my 172 Cup on wednesday. What a big difference between this and my old car that ive owned for nearly 3 years (vtr, pic below).
I am loving it, engine is fantastic! :approve: Its a may 2003 model with nearly 40k on it! Paid £3850 for it for those who might want to know...
Picked up my 172 Cup on wednesday and was loving it till i gave it the boot in second from a roundabout, there was a very loud knocking/banging noise from the rear.
Im guessing its the exhaust mount, havent had chance to have a look for myself, just wondered if any of you have experienced the...
Re: ***How much is my car worth?***
Hi all, looking at a 03 plate 172 cup tomorrow with FSH, 39k, very good condition throughout, slight curbing on front wheels, belts done 1500 miles ago.
What kind of money would you think its worth paying?
Thanks
A quote for me is just under £1k with 6000 annual miles, Im 22 with 1 year no claims, no insurance claims but have got 3 points!
Got that through moneysupermarket.com
Thanks for that.
Would rather have the Cup over a normal one, 182s im not keen on the rear and i cant justify spending my savings on a 197 just for weekends.
So the Cup seems the best option in my opinion!
I just want something fun and exciting for the weekends, had a standard vtr for...
lol, no worries, will check everything listed tomorrow, was a woman who answered the phone so im guessing it was the owner, so hopefully been well looked after :D
Will post up here how i get on!
P.S. Thanks for the advice
Thanks for that.
A pikey? Why?
Only going to be used as a weekend car and used on the odd track day.
Are all them bits listed liable to wear at only 39k then?
Hey all,
My names Matt and im from cambridgeshire, hope you are all well.
Been reading on here for a bit, will be hopefully looking at a 172 Cup tomorrow!
