did the same thing, thought it was stupid only having 5mm clearance. the boot rubber expands as it heats up and spins up so i chopped mine back too. never had problem again

sorry wrong pipe, that one supplies oil to the intake valve, that one needs to be plugged in, look behind the manifold you should see a tube sticking out that the pipe should be attached too
