(on the 'Berg breaker) Stripped the thread on a trackrod end, will not budge out of the spacing on the hub now.
No alternative but to find a spare set of hubs or buy some.....anyone?

Surely you can just replace the track rod end? Can see why you'd need to replace the hubs

In all, that and the lower of the two bolts that connect hub to shock are spinning and stripped.
They were only coming off so I could pop them on another shell I've bought so it could be moved and trailered down. So rather than fannying around for hours on end....it's prooved easier to buy new hubs.

The car has sat outside for a year.

Had new rear breaks fitted after the previous owner put the pads in with no fitting kit and it spat a pad out on the drive back from work which then trashed the calliper and then to top it off euro car parts ignored what I asked for and gave me the wrong disks and now my front lamba has packed in again that will teach me for using a universal one and not a Bosch one

Snapped a bolt removing the bonnet. Snapped a bolt putting the ally one on. Snapped and melted several drill bits trying to drill it out. Ended up using three bolts and some metal epoxy adhesive. Bonnet is never being removed again.
Proper bodge job.
The rain can also do one as I need to finish painting the badges and the bonnet needs a polish and wax

Fitted a group N exhaust to my s1 106 Rallye - wow is all I will say. So feckin naughty.

Fitted 4 x Uniroyal Rain Expert 3's after having the slowest ever spin on the way to work the other day. Then gave it it's first wash in my ownership. Need to get a clay bar, quick detailer and some wax ordered so I can give it a good going over after discovering all the demons that lurk beneath the muck! Also need to get some quotes on refurbing the Turinis as they're disgusting.

What clay bar and polish are you going to order? The meguiar's clay and quick detailer you can get at Halfords is pretty good.

Replaced the boot carpet only to find water pooling on the boot floor. No idea where it's coming from! Also then found front passenger footwell is damp too! Aaarrrrggghhhh!

Fitted new polybush front engine mount and dogmount bushes.

It has deffo changed the way the car feels in terms of braking, accelerating and gear changes. Highly recommended the two.

Only downside is there is more vibration in the cabin at idle and high revs

Changed the cabin filter today, took out the glovebox as it made it easier to get the old one out and new one in.

I'll probably end up getting that and some Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection as I've used them before on my old Honda which was a similar colour to the Clio with good results. Still got SRP and some Jeff's Werkstatt stuff from then too.

wet sanded and polished headlamps and cleaned up engine bay some, pulled the fuel rail cover off and cleaned that good/started to polish it.

Installed and configured my Pioneer deh-80prs stereo. Need better weather to finish my sound install 😧

A great HU choice. I was so tempted to go with one of these or the 88RS but I fancied iPod connectivity and Bluetooth, moreso the latter. In the end I went with the Alpine 9887R for my RST and the newer CDE-178BT for the Clio. I prefer the look of the former though, but the functionality of the 178 is superb as is the Bluetooth.

This brings back memories. I had a Janspeed decatted stainless system on my 106 GTi. Jesus that thing was loud and popped more than a bowl of Coco Pops! Some loved the noise and others hated it. It was a little raspy mind you. I do consider doing a decat to my 172 oddly enough.

Anyway, I fitted my festive wheels on and even fitted some Uniroyal RS3s up front. Yes, the colour is terrible! However, it's nice to park the car in town without fearing destroying the Turinis or parking a mile away from the kerb with the Clio's laughable steering lock ; the rim protection on mine with the Toyos was useless before anything is said, although the 195/45 tyres may have played a part there ;). The handling is not too bad either, and it feels oddly more stable on the motorway with heavy sidewinds which is something I was not expecting! Paying £45 for a half decent tyre is also nice :).

But they desperately need the colour changing. Black or Anthracite is on the cards. White I am tempted but I do not wash the car enough! However, the wheels look better dirty in this case!

Replaced the broken seat recline lever, cleaned the throttle body, did a final polish on the headlamps, gave it a wash and ordered stuff to do an oil change and a new MAP sensor (does not fit very tight in the manifold)

Fitted some rubber mats to the front foot wells
Started to make some door cards, but it is quite tricky! Need at least three pairs of hands to hold, mark and drill/rivet. Have plenty of material and got one side made up I am going to try first before making the other door, but still have loads of left overs if I don't like this first one.

Drove it for the first time in about a week and after thinking it had a bearing going, nope it turned out to be something in the tyre causing the noise

Phew

I've did the same yesterday - I did a mock up in cardboard and then cut out the plastic to the shape , made it a lot easier but long winded.
Not a bad job I thought .

Fitted the CTEK battery charger/conditioner to keep the battery topped up. Nice bit of kit with the "comfort connector" thing making it really easy to connect and disconnect, very impressed so far.
