Very high idling?

Not sure if its the cold weather but the 1.4 mk1 seems to idle very high around 1,500 and higher (if thats the right measurement) cars got decat on but seems to rev so high at the mo even when changing gear sticks at nealry 2,000?
what would cause this?Ryan

dunno if its the ssame but my accelarator cable was set to tight. that caused mine to idle at around 1500 rpm.

Not too sure mate because its only just started doing it over the past few weeks,maybe just needs a good run?
