Valver problems

right i have spent over 1k on trying to solve this problem so any help is appreciated:

when cold the car starts and is fine (also on a full tank of fuel)

When hot it chugs to a halt and wont start.

MAP sensor, throttle body, plugs, leads , main fuel pump all been replaced

Would changing Fuel Filter, or using a bottle of Forte Fuel System Cleaner/Gas Treatment help.

Last time coolant system flushed? Water pump?

Seems temp related so not sure if fuel filter and fuel system cleaner may help but if you havent done so its not expensive and could help.

Dizzy cap and rotor arm been checked?

Why not take it to one of the specialists or ask them i.e. Hillpower, BB, Ktec, Torsion Tuning or GDI. Chances are one may know straight away from your symptoms.
 


Have you tried removing petrol cap from car to see if tank is under vacuum?. Try this when car has just cut out and try restarting!.I take it car still fires after cutting out?.Does it reek of petrol?.May have leaking injector/overfueling If not it sounds as though you have a a bit of wiring what doesnt like heat,giving a high resistance and only giving probs when car warmed up. Temp/TDC sensors can sometimes cause what youve described, but are usually ok.

as far as i know its not under vacuum or leaking. it has been looked over twice in that department. could it be the auxillary fuel pump causing it

might sound stupid but what petrol you using? When I used BP Ultimate my car did mush the same. I couldnt work out what was going on, tried everything like you said then went back to normal Unleaded and it sorted it. Shell Optimax seems ok tho.
 


Might be an idea to have it booked in at a Renault dealer (if you havent already). We have had a few new reprogramming discs for "Clip" (Renault diagnostics) and it may be that the engine needs reprogramming. If not, the resistance in the TDC sensor might be changing with the heat of the engine so it could possibly be that. Most Renault dealers will have a standard fee for a "Clip" check, but agrea this first, some charge the known earth! ;)
 


When trying to restart after cutting out,does it sound as though its firing?Can you hear fuel pump priming itself before turning car over?Relay for pump may be on its way out due to age/weak solenoid, breaking contact.Aux pump wont kick in till your down to your last 1.5-2 gallon.Should cut back out after 30-40secs.I take it valve clearances havent been touched so that they close up when hot?No inlet manifold/hose leaks?.Carbon brush in dizzy cap not broken and is making good contact on rotor?.Alarm/immob been overridden to make sure its not the cause? Your not getting batt light on first before car dies?

Do they have an ignition coil amplifier ? That went on my RT and caused it to just cut out when driving.

Whats it mean if the fuel caps "under presure" I always thought it was due to it being low on fuel?
