Im pretty sure when buying from motorpoint they are imports. The difference between the car and a car supplied from a UK dealer is that there is no alarm in it, no window ethcing and no locking alloy wheel nuts.
I think it would cost about £300-£350 for all these to be fitted
But luckily I'm nice enough to let you know that the motorpoint car is a french import I believe, so it has no alarm. Which is quite important. Plus it'll have two years warranty - I considered buying one from motorpoint so I checked all this out. Thing that really put me off (apart from the not so good part ex offer) was that they didn't seem to know the difference between cup and full fat on the phone. So I went and sourced a year old one from a UK dealer and got a 3 year warranty with it... which IS important.
Forgot to mention the 2 year warranty, if you write to Renault Uk though they will grant you a third year warranty but i believe you have to write within a certain period of time from buying and im not sure what this is
"Motorpoint specialise in the sale of imported vehicles, The specification of a vehicle may be different to that of other similar vehicles available in the UK."
The standard 182's in the pictures do not look as if they have cup packs, unless it is just a standard picture.
Sometime between March 05 and September 05 Renault stopped Etching the windows.
I enquired at motorpoint before buying my 182 last year. In addition to the price on the website, they said there were some one-off fees including the alarm fitting. In the end the price was almost up to the WhatCar target price (i.e. the price you should be able to get from a dealer), so I just went to my local dealer (better part ex price on my old car)
Thanks guys, spoken with my missus and spent 350 on the cat 1 alarm jobbie the car is full fat and cost 10k new.
I bought the clio after considering the more expensive ctr. but i couldn't be bothered thrashing the boobies off it everytime i overtake a bus!
Have i had a good deal or not?
Once i've had my new baby delivered how do i become a fully paid up member? I've been observing the site for a wee while now and i have taken on board a lot of your advice, so i'd like to become one of the enlightened few!
Been observing the site and stole my name? cheeky... lol
seeing as you've joined the forum and go into the personal cp bit.. there's a link in there to join properly.
Seeing as there's only delivery miles on the clock, £12k is a good deal... i paid £11k for mine which was a year old with 6k miles on the clock - with a three year warranty and cup options.
