This engine mount thingy....

.... It seems to be an occuring problem (sometimes more than once on the same car). My question is if they are left untouched does it make your car more dangerous or it just more of an annoyance than anything else? Sorry if this has been asked before.

The movement in mine helped to loosen the gearbox mounts and did a fair bit of damage but they may well have been a fitting problem.

Personally I would get them changed and modify them so there is no movement, the car will feel so much nicer to drive.

Worst case teh mount snaps and engine hits the floor, heard about it with teh gearbox mount breaking on mk1 clios
