I know I think there's something wrong with me, I seem to prefer cars that look like they've survived an apocalypse rather than mint shiny examples.

Thought I would share a recent set from Ragley Hall Classic Show May 2015 - our restored MK5 RS2000 third outing.

The old girl got a nice surprize 'best in class' (>1980's Saloons), I fell over with glee.

Love it. Really tidy mate. You have any former or other classic Fords?

Thanks for the appreciative comments guys.
RS2K MK5's are getting a bit thin on the ground now, most have rusted away, glad we saved her even if circumstances were not good.
Other than Kent cams and loads of noise - it's more or less standard, and certainly goes well despite the 125k+ and long history of use (and abuse -had NOS at one time!)
Spent the last three years getting to this stage and still plenty more to do.

Not many Fords at the show, but was in good company with these...

My granddad had one identical to that about 25 years ago! An old Y reg I think it was.
He knows naff all about cars & bought it at a boot sale lol! When he was asked about the mileage etc, he said dunno it's on zero, new engine you see. Yeah, it had been clocked and the engine in it was fooked! He kept it till he gave up driving.

Is it just a rolling chassis?

Well when I brought it was a complete car and the little 1.1 ran well but being a ford needed welding mate.its now had inner wings repaired, outer wings, front panel, boot floor repaired needs rear arches and a few other bits doing too.I've now got lots of new parts for it as well 1600xflow few xr2 bits including lights. Got some big plans basically.

A guy at work has a black one. Apparently the third one ever built?

I love them, always wanted one.

Awesome colour in the sun and the gold works well..... But they almost seem to common on the road. It's actually a pleasure to see the older (and better looking IMO) Mk1 FRS.

Hey Daniel
It is possible to get the build number for these from RSOC.
VPH is build #398, one of the early ones from 1991 although not registered until a year later, you probably know - but Ford struggled to sell them, so think building this style stopped in 1992 and they re-did the styling - these later MK5b and MK6 don't quite have the character though.
If you want one, then get one now, as I pretty sure the price will be rising in a year or two - getting towards their 25th birthday, but finding one without rust......hmm!
Never thought much about it at the time, but now wish I still had some of my old skool Frusters.
Cheers -Col.

Hi mate, just spoke to him.

He joined the RS2000 forum. Paid a tenner to join and then 'Gary' got him his build number when he provided his reg/chassis.

He also asked to see some pics if yours. Any chance you could ping me some (lots!) over?

You may know his, it's a black one with Escort Cosworth wheels and morettes. (He does have all the standard bits though!)

I must say your mates car looks class! Thanks for putting pics up.
That's right, Gary also provided me with my build#.
I've got loads of pictures, both good and ugly, If you can drop me a PM with email, I'll send some over.
Here's one of the ugly, June 2012 after a standing a year outside, mostly stripped out and just before I started on it.
