Temp gauge/ electrical fault?

Temp gauge on car been going mad so replaced the temp gauge sensor this morning at local garage. !0 mins after going up road problem started again. Took it back and had another diagnostic check done on it, which read sensor gauge again.
He rang up renault to see if they had bad batch of sensors which they said no.

Anyone got any ideas to what it could be???

Cheers.

Think its a common fault mine went up and down and revved to about 2000rpm so went back to Renault and they changed the sender unit aswell as the temp guage not sure if this is the same problem

its a common fault with 182/172s, i took mine back to the dealers and had the temp sensor replaced and they told me about the common fault. the gauge would suddenly drop down and fast idle and over fueling would happen and make the car run like a bag of s***.
