Try a nice sunny day but use a grey filter for the sky, that's what we did for this picture which has had no photoshop or anything, this is exactly as it was taken:

That is a cool pic, how exactly was it taken?

Graduated grey filter held in front of the lens, to make a sky full of white fluffy clouds and sunshine look all sinister and menacing, nothing else to it.
