Suspension refurb

  BG Clio 182 - Recaro
Good evening all

sat watching X factor on record with the misses so I've resulted to thinking about the car

In 2013 I am looking at refurbishing all my suspension and bushes, this will involve a set of eibach's, is it recommended to get stiffer dampers if so which ones

also what bits should be renewed? Shocks, springs, track rods, track rod ends, bushes, top strut mounts, anything else?

Leave the dampers standard unless they're knackered. I'd only renew bits that have perished or stopped functioning as they should.

I am still on original suspension but as i want it lowered I thought I might as well go all out and buy all new suspension bits, my mileage is 48k

  172/1.2/E30
Eibachs and Konis (the yellow ones). New track rods and ends, balljoints, wishbone bushes, arb bushes and top mounts.

Perfect, thanks maTe

I have made another thread but no answers so worth a ask, basically when braking I'm getting a knocking noise by rear nearside alloy :/

Freshly refurbed? If not, changing to non cup fitment will be much cheaper.

don't know bud

but for front and back sachs dampers aswell as springs for £400 is crazy cheap. then a refurb from cornering force (much cheaper than bg motorsport) is what i would do.

But then i would say that as i have sachs waiting to go on

Yes I have a full fat Clio, so can't have koni's

wherabouts do I get Sachs dampers from or is it wait around till a used set come available?

my plan was to have just new cup shocks with eibachs then all new bushes and parts stated above

Thats what i have now cup shocks and sportlines. i picked my dampers up 2nd hand but both front and backs in very good condition!!

I want to see just how superior they are

I think im just going to go for standard but all new apart from eibachs, anyone got pics of how it stands? Not a fan at the moment of how the back is quite high up :/

Plenty of pics in the suspension/Clio Media section. They still sit with the back higher than the front when lowered.

My ph1 172 on brand new 172 cup shocks and Eibach sportlines.

Yes I suspected as it's a even 30mm drop if I'm right?
Just the front is okay but the back is pretty high, I don't mind the stance just along as it's lower

I thought the koni dampers only fit the standard 182's and not cup packed ones? but apart from that thank you for the help

  BG Clio 182 - Recaro
Am i right in saying then i have shock asorbers at the fron then i have shock asorbers and dampers at the rear?

Ive read that a cup packed clio, IE cup chassis and suspension has the 60mm bolt spacing? am i wrong with this then?

  BG Clio 182 - Recaro
Dampers/shock absorbers - same thing.

Perfect, Thanks for your help george

So i think ive decided to just go with standard suspension but all new bits

im just stuck with either standard springs or eibach sportlines :/

any reviews and opinions welcome

I have sportlines, they give a nice drop and there is very little body roll on the roads. However! the ride is definitely firmer and more crashy than standard. But they are ALOT cheaper than Renaultsport springs!!
