strange noise form engine...

hi,

everytime i go to start my car i always get a whinning noise coming from the engine then it stops once the engine is running?

anybody have any idea what his could be...

squeeling belts? can you post a video demonstrating the noise?

From that description I would guess a squeal from the aux belt.

Get it checked as if it comes off there is a chance it can cause a lot of damage

To check it would I just take the car for a service... Or would I need to take it to a mechanic and say what yous have said might be wrong and get him to check it?

if you are close to one of the specialists on here, go see them - yes you need it diagnosed

Eh how would I check if I'm close I live in east Kilbride, Scotland if you know of anyone lol
