This is my mates car who I do trackdays with. Hopefully when he's finished this we can crack on with mine!

172 engine in a 182 shell, Storm grey body, gloss black roof, Rover red cage.

Gonna be mint. Guessing the difference between the engines is effectively nowt? It was the exhaust/cat/mapping that supposedly gave the 182 the extra... 3 horses lol

Why a 172 engine in a 182 shell?

He already had a 172 track car but wanted a flat boot floor as the wheel well is ugly and he also wanted a cage. So when a caged 182 shell caME UP FOR SALE, it was a perfect opurtunity.

He worked in a bodyshop for years so he did all the prep work himself.

A mutual friend called Dave just painted it.

Its back at the unit now and re-building will start tomorrow I expect as soon as we finish our fcuking MR2 Turbo. Jap crap.

Just recently saw a boot floor (182) being up For Sale, as cut/welding in/out a 172 boot floor for 182 boot floor.

Daniel tell your mate to eggshell finish clear laquer the Storm Grey and Black top.
How high is the front off the floor without the engine weighing it down!

The engines in, seats are in, all suspension is on....

But its in the darkets dirtiest workshop known to man. I'm down there all day tomorrow so may manage to get a pic or two.

That was the hardest part! Putting it all back in is a piece of piss. The roll cage, stripping/prepping/painting/masking/painting/masking/painting/masking/painting then laquering the whole lot was the biggest job!
