Speedo stopped working on Clio 172 Phase 1

Have seen the the speed sensors need cleaning up and replacing. I haven't seen this fault on phase 1's. Can anyone shed some light on this? Images of what they look like and where they can be located would be great too

Ph1 172's have a speedo sensor plugged into the top of the gearbox.

Open the bonnet, look at the gearbox and it's at the back by the bulkhead. If it's been in there a while you will need some spinach before you pull it but it's just a case of pull it out, put new one in.

Easy to replace and second hand ones are about a tenner. I've never bought a new one but it's worth contacting Renault Wolverhampton on here as he'll probably be the cheapest.

Just wondering how you got on with this, my phase 1 speedo started to stop repsonding today too.

If you just clean up the connectors with a wire brush or something it should work as good as new, Worked fine on my Ph1 1.2
