Smoothing the front

I know this is a dumbass question but when someone referes to smoothing their front is that just debadging and filling the gap where the badge was or do they actually smooth the front bit of the bonnet rounder? :/

THEY JUST REMOVE THE BADGE AND FILL IT IN

To remove the badge properly, you take the badge out, cut out the recess and weld a plate in... to make it smooth.
