So I tried my hand at some more architecture sytle shots today at Salford Quays. I was just going to put these in the “I’ve taken a photo and I kinda like it” thread but there’s a few I like so I thought I’d give them their own thread.

Nice set. First one looks a bit soft though but that might be due to me being on my phone.
So many people have taken samey shouts there, nice to see a bit of a change.
I'm going there on Friday night after shooting a day in Liverpool, hoping for some decent skies /clouds too for long exposures.

Ahh memories. I worked in the BBC offices there for quite a while. Nice place. Shame about the surrounding area though!

Nice shots, Niall.
It makes a change to see long exposure daytime shots taken there as I've only ever seen night shots!
A place I really must visit sometime and take some shots.

Thanks Leeshez, Ben and Dan! :)

And Dan, I thought this at one point, and after 3 years of practise it’s made a huge difference as you’d expect :)

Nice to see some daytime long exposures and some nice compositions, f22 will lead to the softness due to diffraction. But I know why you uses it! A 2 stop grad would have balanced the exposure nicely on the first and allowed f11.

The crops a bit tight at the top on 3. You had much calmer water than when I went! Like the last shot but would love to see it at night.

Thanks for the Feedback Brazo :) Yeah I was limited by how bright it was and had to resort to such a small aperture. No.3 is cropped so tightly due to not having a wide enough lens, 18mm isn’t sufficient on APS-C sometimes but I plan on a Sigma 10-20 for my next lens so I may re-visit to do it again.

Yeah it's amazing the difference between even 16 from 18! Just ordered myself a tokina 11-16 from digital rev.
