Well after being involved in a particularly nasty head on accident in the clio after an idiot being chased by traffic police decided to take a trip down the wrong side of a dual carriageway it was time to go shopping after my clio went from this:

and after looking at a fair few different cars I've gone for a 3.0 330Ci Sport

been to see a load and this one jumped out at me.. very clean honest example.. full bmw service history that kind of thing... I'll be picking this up next week..

Well not me... I still can't drive yet (broken collarbone)... but yeah.. you get the idea!

but onwards and upwards here starts my new project..

we'll see what happens.. My plan is to keep it for a couple of years until I get my payout from injuries etc sustained in the accident then I will probably buy something a little bonkers and japanese..

but then again I wasn't planning on modding the clio.. it just.. kind of.. happened !

I will probably return to cliosport ownership at some stage in the form of a ph1 172 or similar for a track toy as god I really do miss my 182 :(!!

first thing on the agenda is full paint correction.. its pretty good at the moment but I'm exceptionally picky! I have also just ordered some silvervisions in true cliosport fashion and some LEDs for numberplate lights etc that kind of thing and some Gliptone leather cleaning kit for restoring the seats a little.

Plans are as follows for now..

Paint Correction and full detail
scratch removal - teeny scuff on the bottom of the rear bumper needs paint..
Black grills
smoke/replace side reps - they are a little faded
LED Rear clusters
Xenon Retrofit...maybe angel eyes
New badges
New Gearstick and gaitor
pressed metal numberplates
get Inside strips painted professionally piano black or similar
Probably have the midbox and cats taken out for a bit more of a rumble from that lovely 3.0 straight 6

all of the above will be done fairly quickly I would imagine.. next I may go to some spacers, an alloy wheel refurb and a set of decent coilovers.

Loving the 330 mate a friend of mine has all the cats and silencers removed sounds like a jet lol

Clio looked lovely.

330's are ok. I couldnt have a pre facelift now though but that's just me.

was looking at the facelifts but this was just a really smart example of one.. part of me actually prefers the prefacelift though.. think it looks a little more aggressive at the front so im happy either way :)

Pretty sure it's a super sprint back box mate . That sounds lovely . Sounds similar to my dads old e36 m3 Evo that had a scorpion system sounded superb on full chat .

My god your clio looks awesome. Your induction kit I made using your part list is still going strong!

You've done the reverse to me, I had a black 330ci and part ex'ed it for a BG 182

Glad to see you back in a car dude! 330 looks lovely. Personally for more noise I'd just ditch the silencer behind the back box. Not the full on decat.

thanks pal yeah I cant wait to pick this up and be well enough to get behind the wheel :)

suppose I can work back.. start off with that and see how it sounds!

Niceee, like that video is clearly showing, they sound amazing when done correctly :D
If its anything like your 182 then I cant wait to see what stuff you can throw at this BMW! You should love RWD to yummm ;)

  Stealth 438'd 182
never owned a RWD car before so it should be interesting! i'm rather good mates with john @ john ashley exhausts so he will be able to sort me out something that will sound pretty good i reckon but I dont want it to be too loud

that does sound good wick! I like! will probably get something like this :)

Nice car! Never really considered these but they've really grown on me. Would only have a 3 door though!

ooooh yes!! wouldn't have the 4dr... the 'more doors more whores' phrase does definitely not apply the 2 drs are much better looking!

Lovely! Bit dark for me on the inside but nice all the same :D

cheers mate, I was looking for one with black interior.. love it! definitely marmite though!

for the BMW owners.. which forum are you on.. im on e46zone now.. which is the best to use?

  Never above 25mpg
Im on E46Zone too but they love angel eyes and CSL carbon style splitters so I tend not to care about posting my own opinion on there.

Completely offtopic here rob, but how did you get on in the accident with no airbag in the steering wheel?

New beemer looks brilliant, would like one of those!

  Stealth 438'd 182
Well the pass side went off.. Knocked the girlfriend unconscious and gave her a cut lip a bloody nose and some temporary burns on her face and hand...

I wouldn't of found that too enjoyable myself and with the harnesses etc I didn't make contact with anything..

I don't think I would of come off any better that's for sure but I suppose the only way to tell would be to do it again... And I don't fancy that either haha

Yeah I'm looking forward to the BMW.. Like I said I don't know how long il keep it .. Maybe just till I get some compensation.. Which could be a few years..

We'll see how it grows on me! I wasn't looking to keep the Clio initially and well look how that turned out haha

Ah right. Sounds pretty nasty for her! Any idea what happened to the other idiot that crashed into you? Jail?

With the plans you have for the 330 it will look good. Clio certainly did!

I still use e36coupe (bmwowner) from my e36 days, & occasionally m3cutters.

Generally, i find the UK forums to all be a bit naff/Bradfordspec, so use the US ones for technical/fault finding issue, ie bimmerforums (US & UK actually), e46fanatics, m3forum & m3post.

yeah it seems the UK ones are a bit crappy.. might sign up to bimmerforums and e46fanatics too!

It's home...!! Excuse the iPhone pics I'm going to get the DSLR out tomorrow and get some proper photos for here :)

:D really pleased with it.. Spent today doing the following;

iPod lead
front silvervisons (no point in rear as my led lights should be on their way to me at the moment)
Golf tea mod - sounds better but still want to get that mid box out when I can actually drive it n get it to John Ashley Exhausts in Walsall

Good clean inside and out.. Not paint correction yet too cold and will spend a day down at my mates company 'Detail UK' for some treatment and a whole host of different products to get it mirror finish :D can't wait cause the paint is pretty damn good at the moment but will come up brilliantly with some love..!

Used some gliptone liquid leather kit on the seats.. And wow.. Go out and buy this stuff immediately it's bloody fantastic..! Wish I had took some before images but il snap some pics tomorrow of the end result. The bolsters which were starting to look a little tired now look black and fresh again :)

Oh and I cleaned the key.. Yes I'm sad...

Car is starting to look much better already.. Next is: Wheel refurb (another trip to detail uk) for some minor scuffs and a new gear knob and it will be damn near mint condition!

Then it's time for lows black grills and xenon retrofit.. With or without angel eyes I'm still undecided.. !

Started pondering over making an induction kit up today too.. We'll see..!

Don't add AE's to an E46 (or any that doesn't have them standard)

Genuine xenon retrofit is full of win though.

See I've always thought that and i was massively against angel eyes.. However I saw my mates e46 auto vogue with the xenons + Angels and it actually looked pretty damn decent..!

Il do a xenon fit and then i might buy a set just to see what they look like.. Only cheap and easy to take in and out suppose

  Stealth 438'd 182
Yeah completely different cars but there are so many toys and extras in the Beemer it's stupidly smooth sounds amazing and doesn't have the rattles..! But I do really miss my Clio they are perfect 'drivers cars' but Il be able to tell you more when I can actually drive again haha!!

  Stealth 438'd 182
spent almost £100 in halfords today.. now Id never usually do this it made me cringe seeing that on the till but I had some christmas/birthday vouchers to spend.. alot of them!!!

I think when people know you like cars it seems to be the automatic gift of choice!!.. im sure people can relate to that!! also.. buckets + sponges.. I seem to be mounting up a bucket collection as people know I like to have a clean car lol!

it was all on stupid stuff like tyre foam, tax disc holder, spray paint (sand paper primer laquer etc), air freshners, numberplate fixers, some cleaning stuff and some rubber grommets to tidy up my Ipod install.. but all bits that will come in handy over the next few days when I get bored and decide to take something apart on the car!

when I got back I gave the car a quick wipe down again.. as it had been raining since my little cleaning session yesterday.. and took some snaps..

my LED rear lights should be arriving tomorrow according to the web tracking and I have some metal pressed numberplates on the way too :) (hence the need for new fixings!!) so there will be a few more shots in the next few days also :)

Looking good, I can't recommend getting the weighted gearknob enough. Did it in my z4 and it's great.

If you call Jamie and sopers Lincoln and ask for z4 forum discount it's about £52 delivered I think.
