Good job mate, you checkedup on insurance yet?

ive gotta wait until march 31st until i can drive it though as thats why my tesco insurance policy runs out and i need the NCB. That should give me enough time to give it a full cleanout etc. Ive been searching for insurance and it will cost around 2k-2.5k :(

damn, im sure it'll be lower with NCB, i pay 1.7k for my 1.2 fully comp cause of a recent full claim :(

Good news! as posted earlier the car is now running after getting a new very expensive starter motor. So today and yesterday have been about fixing the car up and getting it back on its feet. The front lights, bumper and bonnet were all fitted and today fitted the sportlines on the back and the rear discs + pads (Black Diamond discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads).

after a lot of scratching heads on trying to find out why it was misfiring i decided to take the 172 to a local renault specialist. Plugged it into a clip computer and the only error shown was the misfire. The guy working there did some scatching of heads and came up with the conclusion that there was an airleak in the inlet manifold. He squerted some liquid towards the inlet manifold gasket and tada! there was the problem! so today the lower manifold gasket was changed along side the injectors and the lower manifold.

It now runs very very smooth and changes gear like a dream, what a great car :D

Re: Replacing Clio 172 Engine (Project ;))UPDATE

28th Feburary 2008
After sorting out the mechanical side of the car ive decided to turn my attention to the cosmetic side. The previous owners didnt really look after the car and had many dents and many chips/scratches etc. Because of this its now in the bodyshop getting a lick of paint and a cup spoiler fitted.
