Removing bump strips MK1 172

Has anyone doen this? Do door cards have to be removed to get at fixing inside?

I am looking at changing bump strips to MK2 ones



Any help / pics appreciated

Its easy, just open the door and slide them towards you.

They should eventually come off with a bit of light force.

saying that I cant get my current ones off - lol

Aha cool will give it a go. Mk2 ones fit on same mounts?

Yep, its a straight swap

heres how you do it, open door, slide a thin implement behind the strip and push away from door so you can see a gap between strip and door (not too much or it will snap) this moves the holding clips out of the mounts (I used a metal file out of my dads toolbox for this, long and thin) then slide the strips towards you. EASY

cool, im interested aswell. i always thought the black ones looked a little missplaced.
