Rear wheels rubbing

  Clio 182
Hello everyone

Here is my problem
i have just fitted new 15s on the back but had to use spacers to get them to clear the calipers (8mm). How ever after a couple of days of them being on there they have started rubbing on, I think, the inside of the arches.
So what are my options?
Also the car is lowered but I don't know how much by.

Try an find out for deffinate where there rubbing to start with (look for scoring on the Tyre sidewall) if its on the outer edge your either gonna have to have the archs rolled, fit stretched tyres or raise the car. If its on the inner again either fit a bigger spacer an makesure its not nothing daft like a piece of trim. Out of interest what wheels have you fitted?

Thanks for the reply dan
I have though of having the arches rolled but tbh i am not willing to go that far just to get the problem right as i simply don't know how long i will have it.
It is on the outside, there new R1-Rs so changing the tyres are not really an option.
Also to add they only rub when i hit an un-even surface on a road.
So I'm thinking my best option is to put the car back to standard ride hight and keep the wheels and tyres as they are.
The wheels are Enkei RP-01s… Function over form ;)

If it is rubbing on the outside the best way to do that without tyres or raising the ride height would be to roll the arches. It isn't as bad as you think to roll arches.

How much are we looking at and how likely is the paint to flake?

Oh right wounded, as for arch rolling is ok providing its done by a professionalas you've already mentioned risk of painting cracking but also distortion of the panel itself which I've seen before

Me and a guy from work did my 106 and his golf vr6 using a heat gun and a rubber mallet, no paint flaking at all. 106 took less than an hour. The golf took about 1.5-2 hours due to having thicker arches.

Not saying i don't trust what your saying in any way but i just like the risk as i may want to get rid of it in less then a year :S

You need to get the arches (paint) nice and warm, it is also best to put a silicone in the arch, so when it's folded it also seals it.

As long as you do it slowly and carefully, you should not distort the arch.

I have an arch roller (not a hammer), patience is the key.

Thank you tony :)
How much would a company charge for this?

P.s would you be willing to do this?

Yes, should do.

Have you any marks on the wheel arch lip, black rubber on it. ? Could also be rubbing on the rear bumper bracket, if so this just needs a little bit being bent out of the way.
