Rear Brake spring thingys?

I've just gone to replace my rear pads on my 172 and have purchased a fitting kit along with the pads. This comes with new T bar and circlip plus two "spring clip" (like a bent paper clip) things (per side). The problem I have is that with the clips hooked over the top of the pads the T bar wont fit under the pads to hold them in .... so do I really need these spring clip things or will the pads have to be ground a bit to allow them to all fit together?

You need these clips (they are anti rattle clips) along with the sliding pin etc or the pads will fall out and do more damage than you can imagine!

try sliding the pin through the bottom of the pads before fitting the anti rattle spring clips. This is how i did mine. Once you have the pin in place you can pull the other side of the pad out just enough to fit the spring clips in place.

are you on about the little bar that slides in at the bottom of the pads to hold them in? if so you might have to get a hammer on it as they can be quite tight. Sounds like you have a lot of things just for rear pads. Only got the pads when I ordered mine. No springs etc. Reuse the old slide bar thingy too. Pics?
