rattle coming from under gear lever

Im gettin a metal kind of rattle under my gear lever, if i stab the throttle at pedestrian speeds you can really hear it, its like somethings loose directly underneath it, its not coming from the engine bay, any ideas?

Possibly the heat sheild for the exhaust.

I have one of these too that I have yet to track down, mine is only high up the range though, over 5k.

Over 5k tends to be the rear heatshield, had it on my 182. Bang a bigger washer on to hold it still !

could be the exhaust. Manifold to downpipe joint springs rattle when the gasket is worn (manifold to cat on a 182)

Mine is probably the heatshield somewhere I'd think, the man/cat gasket & springs are brand new and done up correctly!
