Radio code input

Hi. I am trying to refit the original radio and I have the code written on the side. When I enter a digit it beeps but nothing appears on the screen. I thought the code should be displayed when inputting it. How do I enter the code once I have typed it in.

IIRC you hold down number 6 and it beeps a couple of times and then fires into life.

the code is displayed when entering it you sure its all plugged in? should be 4 plugs on the back, definitely the 2 big block conenctors but there should also be 2 small ones (some cars might just have 1 from memory as I believe one might be the cd changer) but one of the small ones is the screen.

hey folks - I think I have the same issue as the OP - Just installed a new battery and nothing is coming up on the display screen at all - I don't get the _ _ _ _ where you're supposed to enter your code, just blank. I can push buttons on the radio and some of them beep but not much else goes on. I read somewhere that holding down 5 + 3 + power should bring it back to life, but that just starts up some weird demo mode with a horrible test-pattern of sound. I've also tried pushing 6 repeatedly but it doesn't do anything (thats another suggestion i read somewhere).
I have my code, just no way of entering it. Has anyone encountered and fixed this??
