  Clio mk1 1.2
hello all,

my friend is considering putting a renault 5 gt turbo lump into his mk1 clio as the engine has gone bang and he has fixed it all but it wont start, it tried to before but doesnt even spark now (does anyone know what this fault could be)

what will we need to complete the conversion ie. wiring looom, engine mounts???

he brought a whole head gasket set, so everyone was replace, both manifolds, head gasket, engine cover gasket aswell, new bolts,

water was getting into engine and causing it to overheat

yep because he has ignition and the car stereo works, we was thinking about puttin it on charge for a couple days aswell, the battery is brand new

Brand new means nothing get it on chnagre it might have enought to run lights just not enough to run the car.

Has he reconnnected the earth straps and got the coil leads the right way round etc?

Engine woulnd't start right as the plugs would fire in the wrong order.

Thinking though the plugs don't work in the end never mind in the right order so scrap that idea.

Earth straps there ones from the engine and gearbox

Sounds like he needs to check everyhting plugged in.

all he done was take the head off car 2 get skimmed, removed both manifolds off head, remove ht leads and spark plugs, fitted a second hand dizzy cap as he broke the original and didnt disconnect the gearbox
