We have black for general
Green for glass bottles/cartons
Brown for cardboard
Small green for food

Pretty sure the green ones get sent to southern supermarkets.

Picked the wings, bootlid and sunroof up today:

Painted the back of the wings black, for a bit of protection:

What's the plan with this when its done ?

Sell it ? Move on to another. Glad you have done a good job on it

Depends on what stage of 'finished' I get to.

I might get bored and sell it, I might very will put an M52 in it.

The thought of selling it breaks my heart atm, so I can't see it going anywhere anytime soon, unless someone made me a daft offer.

The postman came today :)

Hopefully the new control arms will come tomorrow :)

Also, picking the doors up tomorrow too, then I'm done for collecting panels and bits :)

I love retro cars, especially standard unmolested cars like this. Restore her to her glory and enjoy the head turning like I did with my XR2 that I recently sold. Beauty is it will never lose money, modding cars like this spoils them and takes away their retro ness!
Excellent thread...will be watching closely.

Mine will be getting some mods tbf.

The front valance has already been smoothed off for de-bumpering, I have coilovers ready and new wheels.

There are a few other little things that will be happening too.

It's all about subtlety and keeping the classic points of the car intact.

Part of me wishes this would hurry up with a big update every day as I can/t get enough of it :) On the other hand I don't want it to end haha.

Ask and you shall receive:

Collected the doors today, I'm sure my mum will be chuffed when she finds all this in the front room :D

Back of the valance is now undersealed:

Chassis front end painted black:

Fuel filler cap fitted, needs a little bit of tweaking before it fits perfectly:

Did a test fit of the boot seal and I seem to have found where it was leaking, I've siliconed it up, so once that's dry tomorrow I'll know if it's worth keeping the seal or not.

The weather has been amazing today, clear skies and lovely, warm sun.

So naturally that meant a day on the BMW.

The boot seal fix "appears" to have worked, so time will be the ultimate test.

The rubber was cleaned with eraser and then sealed with Wolfs Trim Coat:

Plastic trim was über grubby:

Cleaned with eraser and dried with a heat gun:

I still wasn't happy though as there was some overspray from a previous respray:

So I gave it a good coat of black paint.

While that was drying, I cleaned up the boot lock/mechanism:

Nice and clean, again Wolfs Trim Coat on the plastic seal:

Boot badge cleaned up and treated with Wolfs Trim Coat:

All together:

Boot took a bit of a fiddle to get it aligned and not catching on the lock, but it's 99% bob on now :)

Got a few little bits sorted tonight:

Paint stripped the horn:

Started sifting through the various bags of bits for the car, this isn't even all of them either:

Lower grilles cleaned up and painted black.
