Oil pressure problem

Hi all,ive read earlier post ive got same issue, stop&oil pressure sensor coming on intermitantly.i know i need to check sensor and oil pressure but would a faulty sensor come up on a code reader and if oil pressure low would the car run differently because its running good also would the engine just let go if used? Thanks for any advice.

Ps lghts coming on when on straight roads not fast around corners .gotta drive home 35miles take it steady and fingers crossed ??

Oil pressure sensor is there just to bring the light on. So wont log a fault code. Sensors are cheap enough. Worth changing it.
