ok so last week i got a quote from usually the reliable Adrian flux for an identical clio sport 172 ph2 2003 reg at a cost of £835 TPFT including full breakdown cover, drive any other viehcle ,unlimited mileage and 250 excess!! ..pretty good imo.
but unfortuantly the car turned out to be a shitter so sacked it off.

found a new one that i planned on goin to view 2moro and i know if all is well i will be buying it. so just to cover my back i rung Adrian flux again just to confirm it was a different registration but exactly the same car minus a year older.

ok Mr clarke let me just confirm this for you ,she comes back on the phone, "right it seem over the weeknd this companys rates have altered!..ok?
the best price we can do for you now is £1051 all the same as before except no unlimited mileage

EXCUSE ME!!! 'the rates have altered' by £215 over the sake of a weekend??????

correct me if im wrong people but when i originally rang up they said the quote would be valid for 30days!? lets be fair ok the reg is different but it is the same car!?

im just wondering if theres any other companys anybody knows of that are known to be good, im stuck for time!?
thanks

It's called "Let's Move the Goal Posts again, shall we?"

It's a favourite tactic of car insurance places. Make sure you purchase the premium on a Tuesday, between 1.19pm and 1.32pm. Prior to that you get a Pre-Late Lunch premium added of £42.56p and after that, you'll get the On The Afternoon Slog to Hometime Tax of £62.89p applied.

Dodgy, I tell thee. If I could legally do it, I'd rather draw the money out of the ATM, then set fire to immediately afterwards, than to hand it over to car insurance places.

cheers to tsdhesi.
i phoned brentacre and they gave me the best quote,£845 TPFT ,full breakdown extra at £63 ,unlimited mileage, cant drive other cars 3rd party, but no major loss there. only bad thing with it is the £500 excess but ,its still the best ive had so far overall.

Thats not bad mate, brentacre quoted me £650 fully comp with a 200 bhp limit and i have 7 years ncb and i'm really old :)
flux quoted me £550 but brentacre seem to be much better from people i have spoken too and flux were more specific i stick to the 182 bhp limit......not good for what i have planned :(

yea the chap i spoke to said its just a small office and all the people there are car enthusiasts. the guy on the phone to me was tryin to encourage me to do stuff to my car really.lol ,he said aslong as it doesnt effect power output above my 180 bhp limit they gave me then i wont get charged for mod declaired i.e wheels ,lowering ,ice, roll cage nething .but tbh i dont plan on doin anything major to the engine itself, lowering it to make it look abit smarter but upto now i have no plans as such..but like the guy at brentacre said "youl get bored eventually" lol

noticed your from shipley too? not sure ive seen your car about though

HA ha yeah i got bored with standard too after a very short while, i'm working through a list now of things to do :)
i live not too far from shipley paint by the big bridge but my car is a bit of a weekend toy so it's not out and about all that much.
