  Clio 172 Phase 1
Hi all - Just brought home my new car - A 2001 Ph1 172 in Iceberg Silver. Its my 4th Renault (Prev another ph1 172, a 182, plus a Megane 225 F1).

The great thing about this car though, is that its only done 24000k's since new - thats 14900 miles to you Northern Hemisphere folk. This car is in amazing condition, and still smells new. Its had all belts changed in the last 6 months, and all service is up to date.

Really stoked to have it, and am looking forward to getting better acquainted in the next few days.

Wow that's low mileage. How many Ph1s made it to NZ? I used to live in Oz and they only got 85 IIRC.

Another Kiwi Phase 1 owner here ... mine was in good condition too but nowhere near as low mileage as yours, was 125,000 kms when I purchased it 3 years ago (now closer to 148,000 km).

Ive seen one other phase 1 Iceberg here in Wellington as well.

Was your F1 the destickered one that was on TM recently?

Yes - that was my F1 - went to a new owner in Queenstown. Normally I wouldnt de-sticker a car, but they were curling at the edges quite badly. I understand the new owner has already ordered replacements from the UK, so it will be 'restored' back to original.

Techkiwi - what colour is your ph1? My old one was burgundy - sold it to someone in Tawa.

Welcome!
Can't remember seeing any renaultsport clios when I lived there, are there any specialists to work on them?

Not really unless you count dealers as "specialists" .. I've been told by the local dealer though there is a guy in Auckland that does specialise in Renaults but haven't contacted him yet to see what sort of services he provides.

Most parts here have to be brought in ex France, even simple things like inlet manifold gaskets and accessory belts which I'd have expected to be generally stocked items I've had to get ex France if I wanted OE or use ebay and try and find someone willing to ship here. Must say though my local dealers parts guy is pretty good at going out of his way to get things for me (though that may just be becuase of the bottle of single malt I bribed him with).
