NEW clio 1.2 TURBO...

  Arctic blue 182ff
apparently my 2005 (mk2b) dynamique has the same engine as the 1.2 mk3... does that mean the there could possibly be a chance of fitting the new clio 1.2 turbo onto mine (you know, the 101bhp clio)

excuse me if im being completely thick, but its worth asking!!

why not??

its the same engine, will the turbo clio have forged internals...? i dont think so, it must just be an addtional item.

i thought if its just a few parts fitted and a remap, then why not try...

the 1.2 turbo is great fun, resonsive and very nippy, fantastic fun in the twingo gt, blows most 1.6 engined cars off the mark easily

  Mondeo TXS Bardge.
i think the mk3 1.2 and the 1.2turbo are different per haps eddie would be able to answer if this was shunted to the engine section.

ive got the same engine as you, and it confuses me, because i see air filters etc, and im like were the f*ck does that go in my engine? when i should be looking at stuff for the mk3 then it makes sense lol.

go to a dealer an have a look for yourself? they should have a clio or a twingo with the turbo engine in most dealers

not worth it brand new will cost a fortune, scrappys if they have any yet but doubt it, you might get lucky though.

Its the same engine slightly changes in the head but nothing majour, the N/A 1.2 16v will cope with the power no problem.

it will all fit the only thing im unsure about is the ECU/Engine management.

you will need exhaust manifold, turbo, probably a decat/link pipe depending on how different the manifold is.

just remember its not like a 5gtt your not going to be able to run mega bhp with it unless you spend a fortune, its not a hot hatch designed for performance

For the same amount of time/effort and money you could so a 2.0 conversion with much better gains.

I'm sure your insurnace company would also have something to say.

Basicaly its a none starter, and I dought anyone will bother with the conversion.

pretty pointless to be honest yes and not exactly fast although in a mk2 clio with some minor mods it would be quite fun to drive and a blast down a backroad

but i cant see it being anywhere near as much hastle as a 2.0 conversion, but thats all down to the ECU, im not sure what needs done for that, if the n/a 1.2 16v's ecu is powerfull enough to be mapped to run it then its cheap bhp, if not then deffo pointless
