My Z3M Coupe

Really appreciate the kind words guys.

Might have to look at some 5 or 10mm spacers for the front.

There is a very slight occasional squealing noise when ive got all the windows down, which may well be the discs/pads as i know they are due a change at some point. Genuine discs and pads are £700 for a set so I might have to start saving hard!

Love it, favourite colour on one of my favourite cars

Saw a Ferrari FF at the weekend and all I could think about was Z3m..

Looks really well that! how does it ride with the Spax springs?

Surprisingly well.

On all the cars ive owned ive only ever fit coilovers so wasnt sure what to expect from just springs.

I have to say the ride quality is pretty much unchanged, although the front drivers side spring had snapped pretty seriously so im guessing the standard ride was compromised to start with.

Oh my. That is awesome, just needs a set fo 10mm spacers for the fronts and it'll be perfect.

Makes me wish I should have just saved a bit more and got a Z3M over an M3 Saloon. :(

Had a new cat-back exhaust system fitted on Wednesday. Dear god its loud. Pictures and videos to follow shortly.

Yesterday I decided to strip down all the intake and manifold to get at the throttle bodies and give them a damn good clean.

Didnt get any before pictures but after a good caking of intake cleaner:

I was massively surprised at how smooth it ran without the MAF, so couldnt resist giving it a cheeky rev up with the open ITB's:

Great work!

Love the stickers but unless any of your co-workers drive V8/V10 BMW's/Audi's then they should really clamp it!

Made a couple of small bits of progress with the car recently.

Biggest job was refitting my cat as the decat was making my new cat-back system unbearably loud.

Whilst I was there I dropped the diff oil and replaced it with some quality Castrol 75w140 which was designed specifically for Z3 rear diffs apparently.

Ordered a new genuine S54 rear M badge as mine had faded massively.

Another reasonably large job was colour coding my rear spoiler. It had always been on my to do list, and with the recent nice spell of weather i got the heat gun and aerosols out. Pretty pleased with the finish considering its a rattle can job and the Halfords lacquer I used is terrible (that's coming from someone who sells it every day).

A couple of today's smaller jobs were tarting up the pitted ignition cover. The after picture doesn't do it justice, its worlds better than before;

And finally, I borrowed a neighbours rotary polisher and had a go at cutting back the scratched and hazy headlamps;

I've got a new oil level and intake air temperature sensor on the way as some new diagnostic software I bought flagged these up as throwing persistent errors. This should clear the warning light on my dash every time the car is started. The IAT sensor should hopefully give the car a big of power back as at the moment INPA tells me the ECU is seeing IAT as a constant 60degrees.

Cheers

Just been smashed into.

Coming home from work along a 30mph road.

A guy has pulled out of a junction to my left across my lane without looking my way. I tried to swerve into the opposite lane in the hope he would stop after me leaning on the horn in a bright red bmw, but his reactions were shocking and he carried on coming carving down the side of me. Glass everywhere as my passenger window went in.

I don't know whether to scream or cry.

He wouldn't admit liability at the scene either, claiming he looked both ways but didn't see me and then all of a sudden I appeared.

Insurance isn't open till tomorrow to get anything sorted either.

Holy f**k :(

It'd be OK if it hadn't hit the rear quarter, what's the value-ish on this?

Mine got hit in a similar manner (albeit I was parked) but he didn't hit the rear quarter and did the front wing instead.

It should be an open and shut case though, you were already on the road and he entered it. Choose your bodyshop carefully. I asked for a list of approved bodyshops (as it meant I had to pay nothing and it was all "easy") but they gave me a choice of about 8 within a 20 mile radius, I picked one that specialised in merc's, BMW's, Porsche's and Range Rovers.

f**king gutting mate, I've had it happen twice to me now. It's such a ball ache aswell when the w*****s don't admit liability

  S4 Avant
Absolutely gutting. But I cant see that being a write off.

Hope you got witnesses though, if he's refusing to admit liability!
