My Return to the Renaultsport fold (plus an update on weekend toy)

  Ph1 172
Hi guys and girls, this is my new 172. Only got it today so not done much driving yet. This was my situation the last time i was on here;

and now this...

78k, 1 prev owner... BUT it has had a new engine apparently as cambelt snapped on the last one. No history with it but it was a bargain at a grand! Completely standard too, even a standard exhaust too which must be new as i thought they rotted after about 20k miles?

And a bit of an update on my summer plaything, change a hell of a lot since i last put it on here! Its currently hibernating in the garage until next year though. By then it will have FMIC, bigger turbo and custom downpipe and be about 240bhp+ with a bit of luck :D

Loving the PH1 - looks very good for a grand

cheers :D

I don't know why, but I really like that rover!

haha thanks. I love it! Most people have a 2nd glance and wonder why its different from a standard one. have to get them side by side to really notice all the differences lol

I saw this for sale - very very rare on a 51 plate, looks tidy

yeah i wondered if it had had a smash and had a ph1 front end on it or something. i was sure all ph1's were x's and y's.

Tidy ph1 but is it wrong I prefer the rover? I know those rovers are quick I just didn't realise they were that light.

Curse my love of crap cars....

They arnt that much heavier than a clio really, maybe 50-75kgs more. 220 would butcher a clio in a straight line, clio would butcher 220 round corners haha you really do have to wrestle them round corners.
