Looking good, black suits it - Just lol at the name of the tyre though!

Its not got the power to need better lol you can make it screech round corners on command. It'll get r888 in 185/60/13 when i get a new engine in it.

I fitted some 50mm lowering springs today so i'll post some pictures up when i get home. It needs a full geo setup now as the steering seems vaugue.

Looks like i've just bought an escort gti as long as it runs fine like the guy says. Should have it on saturday. 130bhp should be enough for now.

  clio 1.8 16v, civic vti
an escort gti is 115bhp, but assuming you remove the cat etc you should have a nice bit of poke compared to now.

The red fiesta was running on 7x15 compomotive mo's in an et 37, but with a 25mm spacer to bring the offset back to an et 3, which is what the 7x13 wellers it used to run were, they fitted the arch perfectly then...,had some very nice tasty bits under the skin too ;)

  clio 1.8 16v, civic vti
the rs1800 had the extra power not just because of cams, the cams, throttle body and plenum (which isnt the same as the gti as they are eec 5 not 4) ecu and maf....,but the 130 cams are an easy and cheap upgrade even if not by very much, plus now you have all the bits you need like the sump and water pump etc etc, id spend £100 on a 2 litre from a breakers and go 2 litre, but depends on your budget of course

i was thinking exactly the same thing i'll not be fitting it straight away as i want the car for this years shows. it gives me time to do plenty of research as my knowledge of all things ford is very limited at the minute.

Yeh with the 130ps cams your looking at 120-125bhp ish without the inlet and body imo

ive just got the same engine altho youll have to do a little mroe work than me to fit it in.

Oh and get yourself on here - http://xrtwo.speedcentral.co.uk/index.php

Change of direction the escort was crap and the zetec engines are under powered for what they are so the new plan is to try get hold of a decent xe at a good price and try get that fitted. 150bhp as standard and totally bullet proof with a lot of potential for more power. I'm sure the ford boys won't like it but i'm not a ford boy so don't really care.

I'm sure its probably been done before its just trying to find some info on it. The zetecs not a straight forward fit any way so it shouldn't be much more hassle its just driveshafts that may need to be custom made. A lot of my mates have had xe engines for years so there is a lot of knowledge in my circle of friends where as the fords are all new really.

dont hate on me but wouldnt an F4R be any good? or will it be too awkward/big?

would piss off alot of the purists too, mind you so would the C20XE

  audi a6 3.0tdi
i said f4r engine to gaz but he said with it not having a self contained loom it would be an absolute nighmare where as the xe would only take about 5 wires to get running.

cant believe your going xe!? al;tho they are a great engine as you say

im pretty sure it aint been done before... duratec & b16 have been done tho

Gaz found a full engine and box for £300 so as long as it physically fits in the engine bay which shouldn't be an issue the only major expense i may have is getting driveshafts to fit as i may need some custom shafts making. Xe nova's go really well so it'll just be the same in the fiesta.

I'm enroling on a classic car restoration course on the 7th of june so i can learn how to fabricate metal, weld etc and hopefully i'll be able to do the fiesta as a project using all there tools ;)

Not looked on there yet as i'm not rushing into it, i'm going to leave rexy to source a decent engine for me he's the man with all the vauxhall knowledge. I've been on the performance nova group and they are loving the idea of an xe fiesta lol. I just need to get hold of my mate and his nova to see what engine bay sizes are like in comparison to the fiesta i can't see there being too much difference.

I took the fiesta to a classic car show at the weekend and took a few rubbish pics of it

Plans are sounding good!

First Sunday of September there's a classic rally round pembrokeshire. My great grandad and his mates set it up years ago, few thousand people go now. I'll let you know the details if you fancy it?
