My NHB 30th Anniversary

  Charged Superleggera
good purchase mate. you getting an n1 to go with it or just keeping with the stock axel back?

  Charged Superleggera
i have no personal experience with magnex but most of the people that have had a one rate them highly. They do sound really nice aswell so with the unsilenced b pipe, it should make for an awesome noise.

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
Ive had magnex before and they are very well made, also there not in your face with regards to motorway noise.Only when you boot it did i get the noise people wanted...

Bit late but only just washed it. Ned exhaust and B pipe are now fitted

Not sure wether the back box will get replaced with a spoon n1 or not, any thoughts?

I'd definitely change it for an N1, hate the look of the Magnex, N1 is miles better looking. No idea what sounds better though, vids of the Magnex at all?

Do like a nice CTR, I'd have a facelift NHB, or Cosmic :)

Remember to check that oil though ;)

Love this,

  Maybe a 172 Cup..
N1 is meant to be better performer, and usually hate oval exhausts, but love the Magnex 6x4 oval on EP3..

The red ep3 above is awesome :)

Its only needed 0.5 of a litre since i got it.

Did look at a facelift but I wanted something abit special, dont see many 30th editions. Well there are only 100 of each colour :)

Hmmmm i do like my oval, but the spoon N1 looks good to.

There was a tatty one that'd clean up fine on EK9.org a few weeks ago. not sure how much he wanted though... knowing that place, about £8.2m

Dont know where the oil issues come from.Ive had mine nearly a year and havent had to touch the oil at all...

The magnex actually looks quite good there. I have heard one upclose before and they sound decent aswell. I would still change it for an N1 though. I just fitted my n1 with a spoon b pipe (baffles removed) along with a resonated 2.5" decat on saturday and it sounds insane. Probably a bit extreme for a daily but brilliant for a weekend toy. Car revs much more freely now aswell.

Inlet manifold and hondata gasket should make a good bit of difference. Are you going kpro or just mapped on a chipped ecu?

As for the exhaust manifold on the previous page i would personally hold out for something a bit better with proven gains(eg toda) especially if your going to get it mapped as well. DC manifolds are good but do have a tendency to crack especially when heat wrapped. People have had more success with them on the k series than the b series engines but overall for the money its a good purchase though if you can find a second hand toda one for a reasonable price i would go for that.

Looking forward to seeing what numbers she gets on the dyno after the mapping session :)

I'll be getting a DC sports manifold at the end of the month, as you say unless something pops up second hand, Then mapping end of April.

Be going KPRO yeh :)

Should see around 240bhp, some have seen 250bhp as well.

Is that not a 50bhp gain on a na with basic mods?

As Chris said, pretty standard gains really from just mainifold, exhaust and b pipe, air filter, inlet and KPRO.

Air filter - £330
Manifold £389.99
B pipe - £130
Spoon n1 - £250
RBC inlet - £250
K100 - £810 fitted and mapped

About £2100 all in for a great gain :) Transforms the car apparently :) Especially when they map in vtec a lot lower, as the change over at 6k is rubbish compared to with hondata.

I'll leave it as that then save for a supercharger :)

Doubt you'll see a 50 bhp increase with that lot. As said I'd wait for a decent manifold to come up second hand with good gains. Although I've not heard anything bad about DC stuff.
After all that lot why not cam instead of SC, NA ftw. P

lol Gaz.

Yeh k20's respond well to simple mods (manifolds) and a remap. Seen many get over 250bhp without any major work.

They regularly hit 240bhp with the mods listed, as firas says seem some do 249bhp and one did 252bhp.

Lovely example Ben! Great choice of mods too! Im currently saving for the kpro while trying not to buy other mods!!
