My new GTI-6 P1

  LY Megane R26 230
A set of Billie B8's and some eibach springs are perfect for fast road/light track work.I had a set of Avo Coilovers on my S/C 6 and they were just too harsh for everyday use.

Also tried AST's and they were sublime but werent cheap!!!!

What made you go for 17s? You're normally into putting smaller wheels on these days!

Ha ha, i was only 22, so was more of a style wh0re then ;) still took it on track a wee bit though ...

Think most people just go for the billies as they are awesome, & pretty good value. Ive always though that coilies are a bit pointless with a rear torsion bar as well tbh.

Yeah, that seems sensible. Annoyingly I think the front could do to go down 15mm or so - 306's all seem to have a slight reverse rake which looks a bit pants IMO. And the Koni dampers on it at the moment are way too spongey! I think they're adjustable, but they are quite old so could maybe do with either a refurb or being changed...

It's been lowered 40mm at the front and the rear was done at the same time apparently, but looking at it side on, the front and rear look quite equal in terms of height.

Yeah, maybe slightly lower at the back... Not worth messing around with the torsion bars though tbh!

I've found some MO5's going for £230 without tyres... Would it be completely irresponsible to get them bought? Sell the cyclones & 205 wheels, sling the Toyo's on... Hmm. Seem a bit over priced to me!

IMG_0333-vi.jpg

(to be refurbed in grey of course...)

How much could I get for cyclones and 205 wheels on 106owners? lol

That's £230 delivered, so it does work out at about £50 per wheel plus a courier... Just depends on how easily the other wheels would sell; I've got rent to pay! lol

Aye, that'd be great Daniel! I'll send you a PM if I go through with it... Trying to think how I'd go about it as the 205 wheels won't be arriving for a week or two.

I sold a set of cyclones on budget tyres that I rattled canned myself for £90 in November. Took me about 2 weeks to sell them on 106owners.

Ah, not so bad. I'll sling on a couple of layers of paint and get rid... Got 3 uniroyals and a budget, so might get £100+ if I'm lucky! Not sure on the 205 wheels - they go for about the same on eBay...

Going to hold off getting the MO5's until I've sold some things I think. There'll always be more sets!

Found this for £75 - looks like a steal to me (it's the actual seat in the photo too, looks in decent nick other than the f**king horrible sticker)! I'm worried I'm starting to spend too much now, though... Might leave off getting a seat just yet.

EDIT: Just bought it. FFS!

The 205 Speedlines turned up today, they look absolutely immaculate from the picture I've been sent from my dad:

DSC00210.jpg

So they should be fairly easy to sell on if they look pants. Progress with the exhaust etc will start next weekend when I go home...

All in good time! 4x brand new Toyos & 205 Speedlines in mint condition for £160 was too good to pass up! I'll sell the cyclones amongst some other stuff, get some MO5's and sell the Speedlines (or use them for track wheels!) :approve:

If you steal my photo location for blue pugs, at least do it right!

It's in driff at the moment, yes. It's currently garaged though...

Haha, patience Rhys! Next weekend I'll crack on, wheels will be going on, the exhaust will be getting butchered and I'll have to get measurements for a seat subframe too.
Also got some Gtechniq G1 & G3 to try out on the windscreen as I've heard many great things about it!

Have you figured out what's wrong with the ZS yet?

Not quite, just updated the thread, got myself a MAF last night to try out, will fit it tonight and brim the fuel tank and see how I get on. May have ordered some polybushes for my rear axel too ;)

The speed lines will sell well on PH if you don't like them. Loved mine on the 106.

Where did you get the seats from, eBay?

Oft, need to polybush mine when I get chance/money!
The worst part is going to be finding the problem... just fingers crossed it's nothing bottom-end related eh!

Yeah, they're in brilliant condition too so I shouldn't have much trouble getting shot of them. I'll see what they look like first.

It's just the one seat for now - spotted it on eBay for £75 BIN, which is ideal
Will most likely get a Recaro Trendline or something similar for the passenger seat. Odd seats FTW!

Right. Bit of a mixed day I've had. Started off sorting out all my parts and having a good look around the car. I was going to begin with the exhaust, however looking underneath, the back box has been welded to the mid section FFS. So I'm going to have to change how I go about that.
So, moving on, I started with the wheels - removed a couple of the Anti-theft bolts; all good - they're flat faced ones which I require... come to remove the rest they're all tapered! Turns out the cyclones take tapered bolts, not flat faced ones like most of Peugeots alloys... So this means I've been driving around with 4 anti-theft wheel bolts only done up finger tight for a few weeks... Nice.
Starting to worry about what else has been bodged tbh!
I'll be making a trip to a Peugeot or Citroen garage in the morning to purchase 16 bolts - I've had it with anti-theft bolts. They're f**king gash.
Anyway - I trial fitted one wheel on the back, just to get an idea - I think I quite like them tbh! Certainly seem to suit it a bit better than the Cyclones anyway.

So, after moving on from not being able to do the wheels, I started on removing the headlights with the intention of making them into "Black Masks". Simple, take the glass/plastic off, spray the insert, leave to dry and pop back together.

^ That bit is being done black and is currently drying.

The headlights themselves were easy. The indicators however... they needed to be oven baked. I managed the first one fine, but the second... I forgot about it being in the oven, and by the time I'd remembered it had melted. FFS  So that's another ~£15 I need to spend...

Anyway, I got on with peeling off the horrible sticker on the Cobra Imola I bought for £75!

Much better.

And I removed the clock faces from some S16 dials I bought with the intention of replacing mine. This is a dash-out job, so it'll be getting done tomorrow fingers crossed!

They will look far better. IMO

Hopefully tomorrow will bring slightly better luck than today... I at least want to be able to fit the wheels and prepare the Cyclones for selling...

I've also bought some Gtechniq window treatment, a Rear Peugeot boot badge and some nice smelling stuff for the inside. That'll all be going on tomorrow when it's cleaned!

  Whichever has fuel
205 wheels look utter shoite on a 306. Just make it look like a pikey with a 1.9d trying to look cool.

Shame on you.

FLOL at that melted indicator!

Good project though :D

The 205 alloys look surprisingly well on it, maybe due to it being a phase 1.

Haha, Fair enough. I like them more than the Cyclones, but ultimately I want Compomotive MO5's. I got the 205 wheels because they had Brand new tyres on and were fairly cheap, so I'll lose no money selling them!

I think they look a bit too new for Phase 1's, personally. They are simply a stop-gap until I can afford a set of Compomotives. Then they'll either be sold on or used on track.

As if you forgot about the indicator in the oven Joey! LOL!

Looks good on those wheels though.

Man, this weekend has been a **** up from start to finish! The parts guy at Citroen point blank refused to even check his stock for flat faced bolts because I was a y00f and he 'knew of lads who'd bought the wrong bolts before'. FFS, not his problem is it!? So I rang up Peugeot and it would take until Wednesday to order them in, so f**k it - I'll get some from eBay and kindly ask my dad to fit them for me.

Turns out Cyclones do take flat faced bolts too, so I've been rolling with 12 incorrect bolts for a while. I don't think the previous owner did this, so christ knows how weak these bolts are now. They'll be going straight in the bin!

Anyway, I've fitted the 205 wheels with the tapered bolts for now, I figured since it isn't going to be driven it'll be fine on the drive for a few days...
I personally love them! I don't care if it's now a D-Turbo rep, I think it looks far better. :approve:

Moved onto completing the "Black mask" headlamps... Now, I'm still not 100% on them, but they certainly look a bit different to boggo-spec lights and they're not as dark as I first feared they would be, which is good. I can't help but think they're a bit chavvy and slightly distasteful, but they can stay for now considering the effort required to not cook them .

After giving the car a good clean I moved onto the smaller details; the rear boot button has been bugging me for ages because it had no Peugeot lion on it. Got one ordered for £7.50 on 306gti6.com and it looks OEM fresh! Really finishes off the rear end IMO.

Then, it was onto the dials, and the next 'bodge'. After fanning around removing the clocks it turns out that they aren't black and yellow dials, but rather black dials with yellow bits stuck on. FFS. I bought a replacement speedo purely for the clock faces and I didn't even need them. No use putting them up for sale - they're worth about a tenner and nobody wants S16 dials! lol

So that's about that for this weekend. Next thing I need to sort is the exhaust. Going to have to chop the back box & centre box out and get it all done at once... ugh!
