After selling my ph1 I was on the look out for a nice 330, had to be a manual with good history and decent spec, found this on autotrader and drove to Shipley in yorks from edinburgh and bought it from a very posh old bloke with a massive house, always a good sign. Anyway, full history all but one is bmw main dealer with receipts, 84k, six speed manual, m sport, full black leather parking sensors etc etc. it's pretty much spotless bar a little scuff on rear bumper on the corner which is barely noticeable and alloys have few scuffs but I'm getting them refurb'd. Drives lovely, sounds great and engine is a peach. Only pics I have as weather has been appalling ,

Lol, yeah my first ever black car, I love keeping my cars clean so don't mind that much. Black wasn't on my wanted list but it was the best one I found after looking for a while and it looks great when it's clean

Bought a private plate, getting some meyle hd bushes for front control arms as they are slightly worn, just bought 2 new Goodyear eagles for the front as they were getting near limits, a k&n filter for the airbox and finally a full milltek Decat exhaust which I'm buying off a friend. He was given a brand new replacement from milltek under warranty couple of years ago even though they have stopped making them and he never fitted so it's still in the box and they do sound nice.

No, go, not too fussed they cost ££ to replace. Standards are very good

You could fit xenons as you have the right headlights, makes a nice difference

Yeah I fancied grey too, only one I saw that fitted the bill had 122k which put me off a bit, but I'm delighted with mine. So much car for the money

Lovely although I agree with Dan about black cars.

Mine wouldn't ever go above a average of 23mpg. Mine was the 5 speed though. Still, theyre such comfy motors and excellent cruisers.

Yep, I average 19MPG at the moment. Short journeys, traffic, auto box.

My auto is at 25mpg now but my thermostat is knackard.. Highs of 70 degrees.

Should rise a couple when that's fixed.

I'd not buy one without the xenons though!

Indeed, it'll hurt resale.

Bit of practical advice.. Check your DISA valve ASAP (petrol swirl flap type thing) mine was broke, with the pin hanging out.. It probably wasn't far from lunching the engine.

You can get a repair kit from I6 which is well worth fitting as a precaution.

I had to change mine. When theyre starting to go you get a horrid flat spot around 4k revs from memory.

Yep, I echo the above. When I bought mine I knew it was rattling so I changed it straight away.

Lack of torque below circa 3.5k when it should be shut.. Mine was just flapping about and sounded horrible.

New ones are expensive but the repair kit is only around £50 and dead easy to do at home.

Worst thing is when it breaks it gets sucked into your engine.

It's not a flat spot really, just a slight lack of low down go.. If you've not had one before you'd not notice.

for £50 I'd fit the repair kit as a precaution. It can go instantly.

Listen to them re: disa valve. I'd fit one to any 3.0 bimmer of that era I bought just because it's not worth the risk.

Open to the bonnet and listen for tapping, Locate the DISA valve which is in a black box to the right of the inlet, between the induction hose. You can then either listen to just that feel it moving when the car is idling.
