My 172 cup

Hi guys
After a week of having my cup 172 thought best to throw a few pics up. She has done 70k with full history and bodywork is in really good condition with only the minor chip here and there. Unfortunatly someone has taken the cup wheels off and put the standard 172 wheels back on. Also has the leather and alacantara interior which i love. Anyway ill get the pics posted

And after a good clay bar, wax and polish it came up like this

Plans at the min are to source a set of turinis, silver door 2.0 badges, fabia splitter which is on order for tomorrw

cheers. i know fuel then turinis! Im on the look out for a set of turinis at the mo but suppose these will do as winters. Still has all the origonal stickers on the grill plastics that tend to peel off and the origonal radio which is good

Someone has went to a lot of trouble to make this not look like a 172 cup except a respray. Door badges missing, Turinis missing, leather seats.

Looks clean though.

I know what your saying. But the seats are a lot comfier than the cup seats. But bodywork is mint. Turinis will be acquired soon though. Want to get it looking how it would have been from factory

I agree welshname. Going to try and convince the painter at work to sell me his or swap mine as he is using a kerbed set on his 182 as winter's. Anyway front splitter is here today so that will be going on.

That it does. It's amazing how much difference such a small bit of plastic makes to the front end.

Went and bought some chrome indicator bulbs today which will be fitted tomorrow. Sorted my drivers rear light out today had the hood old bad earth problem on the plug. 5 min fix so one less job for tomorrow

I own this car now..9 yrs on from this post it still had the wrong interior and non original Turinis on ..Luckily I've sourced and fitted a Cup interior and genuine Renault Turinis with Ps3's ..Its Mot I'd overdue by over a month so will do on next few weeks as I'm hoping to do a few hillclimbs with it this year ..Its currently on 99k with no history..obviously got lost somewhere along the way ..pics to follow.

In with the new .. They need cleaning again as they've been in the garage all winter ...

When I bought it the airbag light was on , with the explanation that its prob the wiring under the seat as is usually the case ..it turns out its the nearside impact crash sensor ...Ordered one off Renparts for 25 quid ..sorted ...so , come to change the rear suspension ..the Bolts and beam look like its been parked at the bottom of the ocean ..being Ham fisted I tried brute force to get the bolts out ..resulting in ...

A trip to the local Old school garage followed where they welded on a nut and with the aid of heat managed to remove it and fit the strut ..at least they are original cup dampers now ..(and a pair )...as they were a mismatch of gawd knows what make ..It has original marked Cup springs of which I'm not changing as of yet ..I'll see how they feel on track ( ive got to have original springs for Hillclimb rules in the class) ..alternatively a company in Yorkshire can make me some to original spec ..

Ktec engine mount off ..OEM back on ..the cam belt was done last Yr by Diamond ..

Headlights rejuvenated from the foggy mess that they were..well worth the effort ..

Bought an original jack set off Ebay as it didn't have one ..an original Radio/cd to replace a Bluetooth radio player that was in it ..( I've got loads of cd's so the original will be more use to me than a Bluetooth player ) , replaced the Drivers side lock to one that actually works ( 2 different keys now but it's a back up to lock the car if the remote isn't working )...while the interior was out I've ' Bilt Hambered 'the inner sills , which where in good condition ..getting there , I've a few jobs to do yet but need to mot it first ..

Original Renault Turinis on .( only a rattle can job for now as don't want to spend a few hundred pounds refurbing them only to damage them on Track ) ..I might get them done later in the year ..

A shiney new MOT for the Cup ..initially it failed due to no brake lights...🤔..Upon investigation it turns out that the brakes were wired to the clutch ..2 mins job sorted ..😆goodness knows who's had their mitts on them ..luckily I've not done many miles in it since I bought it last year ..so not a problem..

Also,it was the first time I've drove the Cup since I changed the engine mount to OEM from the KTEC mount ..what a difference ..feels more civilised now ..👍

Those wheels look good for a rattle can job, when I did that to mine a few years back they looked like melted wax
