Motorsport / trackday photography

Depends where you need people mate, for example there's a few northerners on here who wouldn't be able to travel down south etc.

  B/G 182 + PH1 Track
I do it on probably the cheapest set up on the forum :(

350D, and the Sigma 70-300mm (non Apo) need new stuff when i graduate.

Plenty on here http://www.flickr.com/photos/30233693@N08/sets/

  a thirsty one
try rob mcdougall (google him he is the mcr based one that comes us) mark uses him lasy few years for the photographer they use for the fcs he runs the stall and organises the photographt and does some himself and loves his track stuff (has ft job though as well) or maybe riad he is doing more and more of this with good results you know naiths brother. pm him on pot as dont think riad comes on here much but i think his uni course involves this area.

ps picked up the mag yesterday loved the cover and icarus quote, shady buggers in that pic under the street light ;)

  Bus w**ker
I've done it for the past few years, nearly every circuit in the UK. And worked at FCS for Rob (above) for the past few years, although I won't be in the future.

I've got very few uploaded but a few from Auto Tuner (which was f**king w**k btw).

*waits for Dunganick to spot the thread*

I would love to help out, but i would have to charge (now doing photography as only source of income... while at uni), and as i cant get trackside (as MSV will have sold the day to a trackday photographer) i think the OP would get better photos/value for money by using the trackday photographer or one of the kind guys on here.

If its a Test day then drop me a line as it all changes and i may be there anyway.

For what its worth: http://www.sportstock.co.uk/ (slightly newer site than the one Andy has linked to, although with the same content)

  1.2 Dynamique billabong

nice work mate

Trying to get into this and can appreciate the talent on display here.

Basic set up and little talent can still produce reasonable results

some really good photographers on here....there may be need for some peoples services in the future so this thread ill be a great source of info / contacts

  None :(
some of those photo's are stunning! I love the ones where the cars have a wheel or 4 off the ground! epic!
Wouldn't mind some of them at a stupid high res, so i can print them professionaly and put some on my wall :)

  vtr, 172, s1 rallye
well in the future it could be shooting for magazine features but not 100% sure yet,

we will see

Interesting if a mag is purely trackday based, most magazine features are of the cars involving alot of static shooting aswell as some moving and depending ont he quality/brand of the mag some require certain things like the ability to use lighting etc..

sorry for not sitting on here 24/7 to see which mag you work for ;)

Anyway as per my interesting comment, it would be interesting if its for a new project purely for trackdays as track and race cars is now defunkt, along with others.

Is the trackday photography you are trying to sort for llandow per chance

no worries mate, it wasn't meant nastily, with venom etc, purely sarcastic (i really should rein that in a little)
it has been sorted and is indeed for llandow initially

crikey cutting it close then, not long to go till the D-Day, its 2-3weeks away iirc.

Are FC trying to run alot more features from events rather than the usual location based stuff these days? sorry for being igonorant but I just dont read mags these days, and last I heard was when Ben chandler said that the mag was having a major overhaul
