Did you use flux cored wire?

Is the cage welded straight to the chasis or is there plates inbetween?
Did you stitch weld to keep the heat down?
Any underseal catch alight?

Gasless, so yes.
Footplates to chassis, cage to footplates.
No.
Yes.

I just looked up the technical explaination for stitch welding, and in a way that's what i did, else you would end up with even more holes than i did! lol

some of the body panels, however, were fine to just seam weld, double thickness i recon.

Done a bit more today, lost quite a bit of weight from the sunroof

Sunroof frame and glass removed...

Polycarb...

Cut to shape...

Then the inner sunroof frame met the grinder, excess metal removed...

Fitted back to the car with silicone round the roof to be extra sure its not going to leak...

Then the polycarb siliconed into place, gotta finish it off tommorow once its all dried

Windscreen shattered today, good times.

Not covered on my insurance either, ffs.

Autoglass - £350, lol. Better get ringing round in the morning.

Autoglass is the place i spoke to....they quoted £350 for a genuine screen fitted.

I said Matteh paid 88 and whiteley got quoted 80, from local companies...

Phoned some today, were all around £175ish...then phoned one Martin/BRUN suggested in St. Helens and they said 75+VAT...so went with that...

Booked in for partial re-test on Friday @ 11am, just need a welding mask now so I can weld up this hole!

maybe it did, lol. sorted now though...

Done quite a bit today, raised front coilovers, welded plate on the chassis at the back and fixed a few other bits and bobs...

Just need to raise torsion bar in the morning, re-fit passenger seat, fit DS2500's and give it a run....then heading down to silverstone to RWS heading upto cadwell on sunday, for the trackday on monday, should be a good un

its gone like a ghetto low rider since the cage went in, lol...raised the front 5 turns on the coils, gona put the back up 10mm...that is all lol
