Knocking noise from rear passenger side wheel

On a mk 1 172

There is a knocking noise coming from the rear wheel//suspension assembly, it occurs under low speeds more than higher speeds.

The car is lowered on apex spings with the standard dampers.

Anybody, any ideas where exactly it would be coming from?

I have jacked the car up and noticed some play from the dampers, but happens on the other side too, is this normal?

Help!

if its lowered u sure it aint the exzorst over that bar, u`d have to look without the car jacked up see how close it is

Have rocked the exhaust from the tailpipe and it only knocks under serious movement, guess it could be that, will try re-fitting it soon, cheers people, anyone else have any other thoughts?

This Could Be Down To The Rear Rubber Axle Bushes Split And Come Away From The Metal. Best Thing To Do Is Bob Under An Inpect The End Of Both Sides Of The Axle And U Will C That The Rubber Is Adrifft From The Metal And Is Starting To Twist.

Wheel Bearing???

If you've checked everything else people have said, jack it up under the sill or wherever, and work the play on the wheel from side to side, and up and down, then spin it up as quickly as you can, & listen for a grinding noise.

Oh yeah, don't forget your Axle Stands & Wheel Chocks.... :approve:
