Knocking from engine!

hi,

I have a clio 182 04 plate with 36k on it, over the last 5-6 thousand the engine is making a knocking noise from the offside, i can be heard quite loudly from the cabin but if i lift the bonnet i cant hear it as such,it is worst at tick over and goes away for a few minutes if i rev the car above say 3000,it only seems to do it around opertaing temperature aswell.
has anyone else had this problem?

De-phaser pulley ( camshaft pulley )

Replace the pulley im afraid - cambelt off job.

If the dephaser pulley is knackered you will notice a drop in performance ( no pull after 5000 rpm ) If the power is still there i would check the pulley and then look at something else like the hydraulic lifters in the head
