Just bought a 172!

  Renault Clio 172
Hi just got myself a 172 never owned a Clio before, bought it as a project as it needs some work to get through the MOT,

Think my first job will be the dephaser pully as it rattles like hell and the car idles a bit lumpy dunno if thats linked,

anyway.. just wondering how big a job it is i.e labour costs and has anyone on here had it done ?

cheers, Sam

Cambelt off job, go to a specialist recommended on here for peace of mind AND a decent price. Expect to pay ~£500 for cambelt + how ever much a dephaser costs! (£149 i believe but don't quote me)

If you let us know where you are we can recommend a specialist ^^

Depending on how much £££ you have mate I'd get it through it's MOT first and spend the money on that, and any other recommendations which come out of it.

If you have any pennies left over - then go and sort out your belts and dephaser.

Made the mistake myself. Got belts and cat back replaced. Then failed MOT as the cat was history, needed a new CV boots, track rod ends, steering rack was f*cked and one low tyre.

Fairly big job and needs to be done properly! or it will cost you in the long run! As addicted said should be in the region of £500-£600at a specialist.

**Edit**

Doesn't Paul at rstuning do belt changes etc?? or am i being retarded
